Jalapeño Authentic Mexican Grill — Restaurant in South Abington Township

The restaurant is very clean, newly renovated, and modern looking. The employees were all nice. I did feel that all the food was lacking seasoning so that's why I am only rating 4 stars. It was good, I just have had better from other Mexican restaurants. We had the quesabirria and chicken quesadilla. I also ordered guacamole and they gave us complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa tasted fresh and so did the chips. Guacamole was lacking lime juice and maybe some salt. The meat in the quesabirria was slightly dry, I'm assuming that they do not cook the meat in the stew/consomme like traditional birria, so it was just plain meat with cheese inside a tortilla. The broth was also not as flavorful as others I have had. But I will note they did not skimp on the amount of meat and cheese. It was almost a little too much, honestly. But the portion sizes were good. It all tasted fresh. My complaint is lack of seasoning. Although I'm sure most of this area will have no complaints. They think black pepper is spicy. I would also like to note that the menu states the quesabirria comes with rice and salad, which I did not receive with mine. I didn't complain because I was already getting full. But that's something to keep in mind. My husband also wanted horchata as it something they advertise and even have on their Facebook. They had none when we went. Not a huge deal, but it was a little disappointing for him.

Absolutely delicious food and great service. We stumbled upon this spot on accident while driving around waiting for a doctor’s appointment. The inside looks newly renovated and clean. The atmosphere is fun and the music playing adds to the authentic Mexican experience they offer. We sat down and were immediately given fresh tasting tortilla chips and the BEST salsa I’ve ever had. Their menu offers a great variety of Mexican meals, lunch specials, kids menu, and even family packs. We chose a ground beef enchilada family pack with red sauce, which was only $37, and came with a two large side orders of rice and retried beans plus a large bag of tortillas and huge container of salsa. The wait for our food was not long and we received 10 huge, authentic, and DELICIOUS enchiladas smothered in sauce and cheese. Absolutely amazing taste and quality from the food here. For 3 people we only spent $41 between the family pack and 3 drinks. We even had plenty left to take home so we had the best leftovers that night. Plus the takeout packaging was convenient, we were able to throw the tray of enchiladas right in the oven to reheat. Thank you for this hidden gem of a restaurant, for the great service and even more amazing food. We will be coming back many times to try more...

Ordered from here 4 times, 3 out of those 4 times they messed up my order. Two of these times the staff was extremely rude when I called to let them know they gave me the wrong thing/ didn’t give me things i paid for. The worst experience was when I got there the order wasn’t ready (was quoted 10 minutes and this was 30 minutes after i placed the order due to my short lunch break i wanted to make sure it would be ready), i stood there for 10 minutes waiting for them to finish my order, I rush to get back to my office and the order is completely wrong, due to an allergy issue i had to throw it out... I called to let them know that after i had waited it wasn’t correct and the woman on the phone tried to gaslight me saying that i didn’t have to wait there… and to bring it back to prove it, which i was already out of break time and now hungry for the rest of the day. after speaking to other locals the general consensus is that the food is good, the prices are a little expensive, which i can live with, but due to the order mess ups and especially the rudeness of the staff I and many others I have spoken to will not...
