This is a repost from YELP as I want to let people know that the quality, price, and compassion that these flowers were intended to represent totally missed the mark. With the recent passing of a loved one, Country Florist was recommended because of the fabulous job they did for a wedding several years ago. So with that recommendation and that of the funeral home, 3 arrangements were ordered to represent the three generations of family members that this person impacted. The arrangements were received the day of the viewing, 2 days after the order was placed.(not a big deal) The day of the viewing, it was noted that several of flowers in each arrangement looked wilted. By the end of viewing that night, more flowers were looking wilted and some were beginning to dry out and droop within the arrangements. The day of the funeral,(next day) all of the arrangements looked as if they had been exposed to a dry hot environment and paled to represent the love and respect they were intended to provide. It was also noted that the saddle on the casket was only a half saddle as the back side if it was void of flowers. The arrangement hid this aspect until the flowers began to die. Now some may not be concerned with the excessively limited life of these arrangements but they were nowhere worth the cost charged by the provider, on the north side of $1000. I would ask that if you are being asked to pay something like this, you either look for another florist or ask for a guarantee. I hope this helps others to be aware and maybe inspires the owners to provide a...
Read moreKristine at Country Florist did the florals for my daughters wedding at Notre Dame November 2023. My daughter and wife had a very specific vision of what they wanted and after trying a number of high end shops in Chicago, recommended by our wedding coordinator we thankfully found Country Florist and Kristine. One of the two Chicago shops seemed to kind get it but was extremely expensive and tried to sell us on things we did not need or want the other had no clue. Kristine saw the vision immediately, presented her own thoughts on flower types and sourcing given the late fall time of the year, found vendors willing to grow needed items late into the fall, offered and did coordinate with the lighting vendor for florals on the string lighting, made herself available when we were in town in June to walk the space with us and present sample arrangements so we could accurately gauge scale etc. She must walk around with the phone in her hand because she is the most responsive person whether it is text, email a call whatever she answers immediately. Nobody wants to ever sacrifice quality or your daughterâs vision for price and with Country Florist we had no need to as they are very fair based on what is provided for the price. Look no further as after talking to more than 6 vendors in Chicago and South Bend/Mishawaka area we absolutely ended up with the best. See the pictures and judge for...
Read moreWe purchased a planter for my Uncles funeral and we were told at the discretion of the floral designer they would make arrangements that, âthey thought was bestâ. What happen to customer service?. We called in and specified what we wanted, it was so disappointing not to see what we had not only ask for. But sad arrangements at that. With the family spending over $500.00 on floral arrangements with them, you would have thought they would have done better. Our planter was a single Hoya plant, nothing more. I purchased the same size plant at the farmers market for $8.00. Country Florist charged us $55.00. Also, they couldnât even get the spelling of the name right on the card after we spelled it out for them. My SIL asked for a tall vase of flowers, again we were told it was a premium cup the arrangement was placed in and what the designer thought was best! The viewing and service was 10-11:30 this morning and the arrangement looked like it had sat there for a week. They have loss our business permanently. I wish I could show you the two arrangements I have reviewed, then you could draw your own conclusions whether you want to purchase flowers for your love ones from them. The spray for the casket was nice, but again the flowers just did not look fresh. Country Florist and Gifts, even an apology would have...
