Wonderful place to learn about the history of South Bend! Definitely worth it to get tickets for both museums (History & Studebaker; thank u senior discount). I'm not much of a car fan, but those old cars were beautiful and historical info very interesting (especially on the Presidential cars). We purchased the tickets late (about 1.5 hrs before closing), but the cashier said they are good for 2 days! We did not finish one museum and were able to book a tour of the Oliver Mansion for the next day (included in ticket), and complete most of both museums. There is a LOT to see, so unfortunately did not complete all floors.
Mansion Tour is definitely worth it - allocate 1.5hrs just for the mansion tour. Our docent Kate was awesome! You view a 15-20 minute video before the tour. Interesting to learn history on plow innovation by Mr. Oliver and impactful manufacturing boom in So. Bend.
Staff was friendly and helpful; there is a gift shop in each museum. There is a lot to see, but not much hands-on activities for little kids, so something to considier. Would recommend this for anyone relocating to So. Bend - and happy 200 YEAR ANNIVERSARY to So....

It's mainly a shrine to the heyday of the Studebaker Corporation, but it also has a collection of other artifacts of local interest. I'm not a car buff by any means, but I was still fascinated by the lineup of old vehicles, the great majority of which are restored or well preserved.
Definitely worth the cost of admission, which dor a student is $7.
I took my time and got through the museum in about one hour...
