Family Dollar — Local services in South Bound Brook

Large selection of food and beverages and lots of other department store items. Prices are a little higher than Dollar General but not by much usually. I think they maintain stock much better than Dollar General which means I can find items I bought before without too much worry about it being out of stock. Unfortunately Dollar General often runs out of stock on popular items, and they might be out for two or more weeks. I suspect that is due to not enough workers that can maintain items on the shelves, and low stock from their suppliers. I told them about it but all they said is they have to wait for the trucks to deliver. Family Dollar has more workers and you don't have to wait for a cashier to come to the register to check your items out, another issue with Dollar General. I still shop at both...

I have been a customer with this location for 5 years. Since management has changed I have had the worst experience I've ever witnessed in any retail establishment. I came in to exchange a pair of pants that we're too small.I was refused the exchange because I didn't have a receipt. Although the return and exchange policy is clearly displayed on the counter with or without a receipt the store manager denied me the exchange. When I asked for a reasonable explanation as to why I'm getting denied service even with a legal policy at hand. He called the police on me. The police explained to him his error and he still refused to do the exchange. I was advised at this point I can pursue a civil complaint for his lack of compliance. @Familydollar Your store manager at the store in South bound brooke on main street is verbally abusive to many customers. While in the store he argued with and refused business to two customers and refused them business. Before I arrived at register I made sure to clarify what my needs were and he said ok. Once I got to the register he became beligerant started shouting get out of my store, embarrassing me and threatening to call the police on me.
