FOLLOW-UP IN RESPONSE TO OWNER'S COMMENT: Although I still very much disagree with your statements about over-charging me, considering the itemized bill I received. I will say that I appreciate that you FINALLY apologized. When speaking TWICE on the phone, not one employee apologized to me about the issues. Please note that it is not the customer's fault that you do not deliver or communicate well with doordash. A simply apology and willingness to work with a customer is always the best practice.
ORIGINAL POST: Although I need to select stars to post this, this restaurant deserves NEGATIVE STARS. We have placed our order through doordash, a service this restaurant voluntarily works in conjunction with and half our order was missing. Now doordash offered a $5 refund, but our missing food added up to $8! The restaurant was contacted about the missing items and ARGUED with two different people even though we just gave $55 worth of business to their establishment. The argument stated that the doordash menu options (ie. combination platters) and their prices were incorrect; therefore, it was the restaurant's opinion they owed the customer nothing. When stated we have an itemized bill that states we spend $17.50 on fried shrimp combinations without the rice or egg rolls, they stated they do not offer fried shrimp comobs. When re-direct to their personal menu online, it is clearly listed as a combo! Once that was pointed out, they switched their tune; stating that they only charged us the appetizer cost ($6.25 each), thus they didn't overcharge us anyway and there is no issue. Yet, last time I checked, $17.50 (the cost before tax and service fees) equals $8.75 X 2 (NOT $6.25). SO REGARDLESS, if there was confusion and we were given the appetizer, WE WERE STILL OVERCHARGED! And the food wasn't even worth the money, it tasted rubbery by the time we got to eat it due to this mess and inconvenience. What happened to customer loyalty and "the customer is always right". EVEN IF DOORDASH was wrong with their menu options/prices, it is NOT the fault of the customer! We should have received the food we selected and paid for online! Now, doordash obviously is a reputable company that wanted to at least try to make amends and provided some money as a refund BUT the restaurant offered nothing!!! Furthermore, we were berated for ordering from doordash rather than the restaurant's own menu, but HELLO!?!?! The restaurant does NOT have delivery and we ordered COMPANY lunch! I have always ordered the same thing in chinese restaurants for over 10 years and I liked those dishes in all chinese restaurants I've been to except the golden star chinese restaurant. Those dishes are: general tso chicken combo and the fried cheese wonton which is my all-time favorite!! but in the Golden star Chinese restaurant I hated those dishes and had to throw all the food in the garbage, I almost threw up when I ate one piece of the fried cheese wonton, it had a horrible taste, the dough, the cream cheese...everything had a disgusting taste. I paid almost 10 bucks for it so I tried another piece with the sauce but not even the sauce could mask the horrendous taste. I threw it all in the garbage. Then the general tso chicken with the fried rice was mediocre to say the least. Everything was bland and old. The fried rice looked like the food my mom gives to the pigs, it looked old and it wasn't fried enough. The chicken tasted like it was many weeks old. Read moreI only order a large french fries w bbq sauce on the side whenever I come here as a quick snack. Normally, it tastes just fine. However yesterday, the fries tasted stale green. I got nauseous after eating the food and still am nauseous. I called the store at 8:40p to get a refund and they sent me in loops. The final call I had was at 10:15p when I called back for a resolution. They told me I should be getting a refund and will not need to bring the food back to the store. Today I call them to make sure that information was correct and was told something completely different. Despite paying through apple pay and being sick still, Im required to bring the barely eaten food and sauces back to the store to receive my refund. I asked if I could send a picture since I live 20-30 minutes away and they told me no, I have no other choice to besides coming to the store. Honestly?
