Wish i could give 5 stars for the food and 0 for the service. I’ve been coming here since I was in high school and have never had a problem but then again have been going to the other location for the past few years. My fiancé and I took my cousin who’s visiting from a different country to try the food which she has been asking about. To be courteous I called to make sure they allow dine in since they were closing in an hour. The man on the phone said yes and took our order on the phone so that we can have it ready.... but only so he can rush. It didn’t bother me since it just meant we’d get our food quicker. We got there 9:13 and weren't greeted. Shifa was on his phone the whole time even when we were looking at him and trying to converse with him. Nonetheless we rushed and ordered and the food came out quick. The Latina waitress was so sweet to us (didn’t get her name). At around 9:50ish Shifa said “guys were closing” in an EXTREMELY rude way right in the middle of us eating. I decided to just finish eating quickly and I was sooooo embarrassed to tell my cousin whom I haven’t seen for 3 years to finish her food because he is basically kicking us out. In the mean time it hadn’t even been 5 minutes and Shifa began disrespecting us in a way that I really couldn’t believe. He was huffing and puffing and rolling his eyes and shaking his head at us because we were still trying to finish our food quickly. I got really upset and asked for to-go containers. The waitress ran to us and gave them. In the mean time I hurried my fiancé and told him to pay the check because I felt threatened by Shifa (he was actually that mad and it hadn’t even hit 10pm yet). As I’m packing the food I hear my fiancé trying to explain to him that there is a much nicer and better way to ask us to leave although technically he shouldn’t be asking us to leave since we called ahead of time. Shifa said “I’ve been here since 930am working.” What he fails to realize is I work at a hospital and have been up since 5am. I’ve helped deliver 6 babies today and been standing in an operating room 3 different times. 9:13pm was my first meal of the day. My cousin is here since 3 years. My fiancé has been at his car parts business since 6am. We’re all tired and weve all been working hard. We came today for a good meal from fellow muslims and instead it feels like Shifa treated us this way because he thinks people like him would be able to take the criticism and walk. But he really messed up with us. I’ve been in customer service for more than a decade now. We all understand customer service and what one review can do. He needs intensive training or just to be replaced. It’s not worth losing business because of one inconsiderate and very rude person. HE WAS THAT MAD AND IT WASNT EVEN CLOSING TIME. WE GOT OUT AND INTO OUR CAR AT EXACTLY 10:04. He really ruined our day and embarrassed us in front of our guest. Honestly so disgusted because I used to love this place so much. P.S. I suggest tipping your waiter/ waitress cash directly so that people like Shifa don’t receive the tip. Our waitress was so sweet and deserved all of it and with his demeanor and unprofessionalism, who knows if he would have even given her the tip had we wrote it off on the card. OH AND SHIFA WASNT WEARING A MASK THE WHOLE TIME AND WAS SITTING AWAY FROM THE GLASS WHEN HE WAS ASKING US TO LEAVE BY...

Well I thought I found a new place to get some quality falafel but after about two or three weeks of stopping in here about once or two per week on my lunch break I realize I was horribly wrong. Everyone in the place is friendly enough I guess, but the problem I have lays with the food and the price of it. Now today I got my normal falafel platter with raisins and shredded carrots on the rice. Now that was pretty decent as usual but guess what,I dig into the falafel to find a big long hair that goes through out about a quarter of the falafel on my plate. I’m not a picky guy so I say screw it,shove that to the corner of the plate and keep eating whatever. What got me then was when I tried to keep eating, there was literally a COUNTLESS amount of hairs in my food. All the same color so obviously they came from the same person. I should’ve known something was up when the guy with the uni-brow at the counter was staring at me smirking. I don’t know what I did to this business or if it’s because I’m a young white male but after this experience I’ll never be back in this restaurant and it was SUCH a bad experience I felt compelled to write this review to warn other potential patrons. I paid $15 for the platter and a can of coke which honestly is crazy, but I have the money so I don’t complain but hey if you’re going to charge premium food prices you better be dishing out some premium food. Maybe it was $15 because I paid for some dirtbags hair?? Psh,heck if I know. Listen long story short, the true nature of a business comes out when they’re slow. I was literally the only person in there when I ordered and this is the experience I had. Speaks for itself if you ask me....

Last night I placed an order for 2 chicken platters at the Soutn Bound Brook location mine was the last order of the night. When I came home sat down to they had given me beef platter. We do not eat beed so immediately I called the place but theybwew already closed. Sent an email on their website got a response immediately stating that I can go back and they will correct my order. When I went there this morning I took the 2 beef platters and when I started explaining the guy behind the counter as to what had happened also showed him the Email conversation that I had. He got mad at me and started yelling and said that he does not care about any emails he does what he wants to and that I placed a wrong order and that this time he will be doing this as a"favour" but next time he will not. And that may be I should not come to his restaurant again. I am shocked how can he speak to someone like this, this man has no respect telling me he will do a favour, I do not want any favours I paid for this food not asking him to give to me for free. Definitely not going back to this place ever again. He is not the only one in town there are a lot of restaurants like these around.

I do not recommend anyone going to this South Bound Brook location. Don't know how the customer service at other locations is. But definitely because of this one person it spoiling the reputation of all your other locations. May be someone needs to teach him how to speak...

I will tell you exactly what i like and dislike about this place. Remember, everything i say is NOT based on single experience. It is after multiple experiences. 1) The likes : The hummus is the best tasting hummus i have ever had anywhere in the world. The hummus elsewhere all taste very similar but this hummus has something different about it. Overall the food taste is very good. 2) The dislikes : Service - If you are doing a takeout then don't expect them to listen to your small requests here & there. They will ignore simple requests such as "could i please get more salad and less rice?". This happened to me so many times that i just don't order anything more than a hummus for myself. The white sauce they give out with their take out is literally no more than two table spoon. The very tiny container (approx. the size of a quarter)--that too exactly 60% filled. Now you can ask for extra but trust me...unless you get 10 of those, it won't be enough. For close to $20 for a single entre, you would expect them to not be stingy about sauce--why make people eat dry rice after paying so much? Again, i write this after same issue happening multiple times, otherwise, i hate to be negative about local business. Will go back for the hummus only.

This was my first experience with Afghan food and it was a good one. I did not know what to expect and was greeted warmly when I arrived. There was nobody sitting in the restaurant but I wanted to take food out anyway. The server asked if I wanted the carrots and raisins and I said yes for the full experience. They were pretty quick in placing the order (less than 10 min). There was a lot of food in each serving and it was very tasty. I would have liked to have a bit more chicken and less rice but there was more than enough food. There was plenty of parking and the outside was well lit at night.

Your food is on point 👌 and the Staff is friendly. However, I’ve been thru numerous issues with you guys. My orders being handed to other customers is ok but I expect to get a fresh one instead of waiting for the other customer to bring back my food to switch up. Getting incomplete orders from time to time or having to drive back to get it corrected. Finding some sauce that I didn’t want on my food Up until this point it is what it is but finding a plastic lid of some sort of a seasoning bottle inside my burger is beyond explanation. Owners need to step up!
