I wish I could offer less stars. I was refraining from writing this but itâs time. I have a 2 year old with severe medical and special needs. Heâs been through so much. We had a script for bloodwork and normally go to the New Brunswick location but this one was closer so we took a chance. I wish we hadnât. We parked in handicapped, as my nurse got him into his wheelchair 2:24pm, I walked in and signed in on the tablet. The tablet at the end of registration said âwait where you feel comfortable and we will text you when itâs your turnâ. I stepped outside to bring in my son and his nurse. It was 2:27. We come back in and the doors are LOCKED. THE LIGHTS ARE OFF. Unknowingly labcorp closed at 2:30, I had no idea. It wasnât 2:30 yet and no one said a word when I signed in or tried to contact me from my 15 second walk to my car.
I knocked on the door and a very rude girl says âweâre closedâ. I explained the situation and pretty much had tears in my eyes of how important this was and the hassle it was to just get him in for the bloodwork. She let us in. As we waited in the waiting room in the dark (totally unnecessary) a RUDE woman named Archie loudly says âwhy are they here the doors were locked?!â Her back was turned to us like we were awful people, then rolled her eyes. I flipped out. I actually cried explaining how my terminal son needed bloodwork and how it was awful to treat us this way. I refused to have our bloodwork done by this woman but the original woman who opened the door offered. She felt so bad for me on how Archie treated us. She even apologized. Needless to say, never again. I will drive the extra 45 mins to New...
Read moreI am sharing this feedback in hopes that Labcorp management takes a closer look at the patient experience at the Park Ave location in South Plainfield, NJ. As someone who works in Healthcare IT, I understand the importance of both patient care and operational efficiency and unfortunately, this location consistently misses the mark.
The front desk staff, who are often the first and only point of contact before a patient sees a lab tech, lack both professionalism and the necessary knowledge to properly support patients. They appear unfamiliar with basic aspects of lab orders such as timing, frequency, and required preparations and are unable or unwilling to ask the right questions to clarify them. Their interactions come off as dismissive, unhelpful, and at times, discourteous.
It is inefficient and frustrating when staff simply print orders without understanding their content or offering assistance. This not only wastes time, but it can also lead to errors or missed labs due to lack of proper guidance.
On a more positive note, the lab technicians themselves have generally been professional and efficient when it comes to drawing blood. However, the front desk operations significantly diminish the overall experience.
Additionally, the cleanliness of the facility could be improved. A healthcare environment should reflect standards of hygiene and order, especially in a lab setting.
I am not alone in this experience, as many public reviews echo the same concerns. I strongly encourage Labcorp leadership to reevaluate staff training, front desk protocols, and facility maintenance at...
Read moreI am pregnant Normally I come to lab corp in south Plainfield and I have ok service but this time it was horrible because of the staff !!!!!!! I walked in waited for a bit then my turn came I was getting a 3 hr glucose test done . When it was my turn it was 12:40 I was informed they closed at 3 which I understood but the receptionist said she would still try and see and If I can get through . I walked in the back and saw this Hispanic lady on her phone when she saw me she got off then I handed her my papers she saw I was getting a 3 hr glucose test done and walked right out yelling at the receptionist saying she can't take us we came too late (which I understood) . They came back in the room and The receptionist tried to talk to the Hispanic lady that was suppose to give me my glucose test and told her if I drank it fast enough I should be fine . She insisted on not doing it then walked out to talk to someone else and me and my fiancé was just sitting there listening to them argue telling the receptionist that she has no brain and if she does she needs to use it the Hispanic lady said she will not take us and then the receptionist finally came and told us we had to come back the next day . I understood everything and had no problem coming back the next day my problem was the unprofessional workers I was extremely shocked I have never experienced anything like that in my life ! I was already having a crazy day and it's already stressful being pregnant and having to get so many test done then deal with workers that argue infront of...
