As my wife and I were touring in process job sites with our General Contractor we noticed a couple homes with some really nicely done in home wifi and entertainment systems. I could tell that the person or people doing the work took pride in their trade and I could tell that they cared about the homes they were working in as well as that they cared about quality. I asked my GC “Who is the person doing this work?” My GC offered to introduce me and he did.

Enter Jake of Barker Tech. Jake showed up to consult and advise and provide a bid. In that brief one hour I was able to confirm what I’d intuited from seeing his work. He was polite. Professional. Knowledgeable and insightful. He made some suggestions for wifi extenders and also suggested the locations and types of cameras along with pros n cons. If I’m honest. I knew from just simply seeing his work in other peoples homes. But I didn’t know if I could afford it. When Jake gave me his comprehensive and detailed bid, it was at the top end of my budget. I simply told my wife. “I want this !! I’ll make it happen and you can have whatever you want too.” Having met Jake the once. I knew he had integrity. Having seen his work I knew that I’d get the quality I expected. I am the son of a fine finish carpenter. I was taught to work by hard working men and women that take pride in their respective trades. I do high end car repair. I have an eye for detail and I LOVE that super sweet “OEM LOOK” and that’s what Jake delivered in spades !

Jake worked seamlessly with my GC to pre wire my home. He strategically placed wifi extenders and cameras. In their optimal locations. Then when the GC was wrapping up. Jake came back and double checked to ensure nothing had been damaged. (Thankfully it wasn’t. But I’m sure if it was Jake woulda handled it without troubling me. I just get that vibe .) Jake just finished my full in home internet and wifi network along with a high definition camera system with an AI Powered cloud based back up and a super intuitive app. I don't trouble myself with what I consider “the minutia “ of internet stuff and electronics in general. No room in my brain for “what’s a terabyte ?” Or “why is the wifi slow ?” BUT! That DOES NOT MEAN I will accept spotty or weak wifi. Slow internet. Cameras stuck haphazardly to my walls with wires everywhere. No. I may not want to do it myself. Nor may I care to learn the ins and outs of internet bandwidth stuff. But I know when something is well done , reliably and properly functioning. And I can certainly recognize quality when I see it.

Highlights. Barker Tech did exactly what was promised for exactly what was quoted in exactly the time frame promised. IT’S KILLER!! So tight and right ! So sleek and cool and so nicely wired and well done ! Nowhere on my property has weak wifi. Nowhere !! On DAY ONE of my new camera system. (Literally 12 hours after he finished.) I was able to communicate with the fence builder through my system and catch a potentially huge miscommunication before my project started. The issue would have led to us getting basically the exact opposite of what we wanted. But thanks to my super sick cameras I spotted the issue while the truck was parking in my driveway. I have wall mounted TVs !! No wires !! I love that look!! The tech cabinet installed in my closet is a thing of beauty and it’s installed with care and pride. Not a single scuff or ding in the drywall. Nothing. It’s like he had a wand and “poof!” He manifested a network cabinet. Peace of mind. I can rest easily knowing I have the best, most reliable high end security system available. Installed by a professional that CARES.

Jake. I take pride in what I do. I take pride in my home. I take pride in my network and I thanked you for taking the time and putting your best foot forward. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found Barker Tech to set up the audio/video system in my home. I discovered them through Yelp, where they had some of the highest ratings—and now I completely understand why.

After sending out a few inquiries, I heard back from Jake Barker within just a couple of hours. He came by the very next day to evaluate my setup and provide thoughtful guidance and a clear proposal. Although I consulted with other contractors, I was particularly impressed with Jake’s vision—his recommendations were simple, effective, and focused on quality, which was very important to me. My previous setup was so complicated that no one in my household could use it when I wasn’t around.

Due to some unexpected changes like replacing my family room furniture and switching internet providers, I had to reschedule a few times. Jake was incredibly accommodating throughout. He even came by to coordinate with the AT&T technician to ensure everything was correctly set up before his team came for the installation the following day.

His entire crew was professional, efficient, and tidy. The installation was seamless, and Jake personally took the time to help set up the sound system, download the necessary apps on my phone, and make sure I was fully comfortable with everything before they left.

What really stood out was the follow-up. Jake checked in multiple times after the installation to ensure everything was working as expected and came back promptly when I had additional requests.

Jake is a diligent, hardworking, punctual, fully invested owner/ operator of Barker Tech. He thrilled us with his professionalism and flexibility of working around our schedule when he completed 2 projects for us. 1) was creating an internet ready home with WAPs and LAN cable drops complete with a server rack. 2) installing in ceiling speakers in our living room and setting up a true 5.1 surround system (including mounting a new OLED TV above our fire place). I want to point out that he didn’t just complete the tasks (overcoming hurdles of getting into the ceiling of a fairly old house and ensuring our final vision was executed), but went above and beyond…. Even helping me take my first tv back to the store to get exchanged cause it came cracked out of the box. Every wiring snag or plumbing that got in the way of our design was overcome systemically to get us a final result that was 100% what we envisioned when we started.
