Art Yourself Studio — Local services in Southfield Township

A group of close friends, family, and I did a silk scarf marbling class as a birthday event at Art Yourself Studio. We wanted to do something creative, yet we all had varying degrees of art experience. Our group wanted something different from a traditional paint and pour class on canvas.

Ginny was amazing at showing us each how to do various techniques for dying the silk scarfs. Then she guided us through the process, making sure that each person achieved their desired design for their scarf. No one walked away disappointed! It didn't matter that none of us had ever done it before, they all were stunning!

Had such a fun, and relaxing experience doing glass fusion with Ginny. I booked this experience with my mom for her birthday present, and we both had a very pleasant time! I was worried that something like this might be too difficult for me, having never done anything like it before, but Virginia walked us through each step and was more than willing to help if I looked a little lost or unsure of what to do next. It felt like we were right at home, but didn't have to set up or clean up :) Both my mom and I are super excited to see how our pieces turned out!! Hoping to get back again soon to try something new, also this was a great way to practice stepping out of my creativity...

Absolutely wonderful! We learned 4 different techniques straight pouring, dirty pouring, swipe, and ughhhh can’t recall the name of the last one, but it included all the leftovers from the 1st 3. It was exciting to c what designs you’d get from how u choose to move your paint. I’d definitely recommend gathering a few friends and booking paint date just for some friendly fun and a good time.
