Midtown Smoke House — Restaurant in Southfield

I don't normally do any reviews on Google but I have to review this place. The people are so friendly here and the place is inviting. I love the owner because he talks to us all the time when we come in. He offers samples of different meats and sides everytime we visit. He ask for our honest opinion on the food and he is open to feedback. I have never been to a restaurant that cared about what the customer wants and if they were happy with the food. They actually care that you get what you pay for and not waste money on something you may not like. And there is not many restaurants that offer samples and have staff that is happy and enjoy working there. They really connect on a personal level and I love it. Not even my job does this, instead we all cry, never happy and ready to go home before clocking in, lol. As for the food it is delicious, I have tried the ribs and brisket. Both are flavorful and tender. I tried the fried wings that was well seasoned and not cooked too hard. The Mac and cheese is good but we recommended adding a little salt and pepper to it. But it is not dry and it is Cheesy. The collar greens have a kick to them but they are good. I love the cornbread and it is a nice size with little pieces of corn in it. The potato wedges are also seasoned and not fried too hard. I can't wait to go back and try the pulled pork and chicken, as well as the desserts there. The portion sizes alone makes the price and the drive worth it. Whoever says this place isn't good or the staff is not friendly is either a hater or don't know real customer service and don't have a good palate. I highly recommend this place for the food...

Honestly, this was my 3rd time going to this place. The customer service is always A1. If you want to try something like coleslaw, brisket, pulled pork, etc. Just ask. If you don't like something just let them know and they will take your feedback with appreciation. On this trip there I told them I enjoyed everything but had to add salt and pepper to the Mac & cheese. They said "Okay, I'll add a little more salt and pepper on the next batch." I mean seriously, from dealing with bad customer service service at all these other fast food restaurants. Then coming to Midtown and feel like your opinion on THEIR food actually matters. "Just shut up and take my money." HA! Between the delicious food and amazing customer service the only thing I kind of want them to change is being able to stay and eat. However, part of me feel like if they had a dining area then that personal experience wouldn't be there. This place is a must try!

The brisket was so tender, chicken wings fried or smoked are so amazing, and the rib tips are not tough....omg...thank you. The sides I had, baked beans had meat I believe brisket, so good, the collard greens, ain't my wife's but they are the best I've had...
