Honestly don't even know how this place is still open. We went on a Monday, around 9pm. Wasn't busy at all. Maybe 5 or 6 other tables. Walked in , sat down. Had to wipe the table ourselves with baby wipes because it was dirty. As well as every other table around us. Tables werent bussed. Manager stood right there 10ft away. Looked at us atleast 5 times, but continued to watch the game instead. Sat there for 10 minutes before a waitress came up to greet us. Ordered the chips and queso and salad for appetizers, they brought the salad with the wings. The wings were TERRIBLE, tiny tiny tiny, the skin was so burnt felt like chewing on bones. I got asian zing and lemon pepper. Only one side of the LP were seasoned, and very tiny amount. They put the asian zing wings ON TOP of the lemon pepper. So all the wet sauce got on my lemon pepper wings. Barley any chicken on the wings, gave me no celery, had to ask for some. And it's like they took 1 piece of celery, and cut it 5 or 6 times so it was celery pieces as thin as a straw. While we sat there the entire time even when we left, none of the tables around us were ever cleaned, cleared of the cups and garbage. We got chips and queso. Which the manager brought to our table. He was very unfriendly, Didn't say a word. I told him we asked for no chili in the queso, he grabbed it and went and got a different one. Dropped me back off without a word. Like he was more annoyed he couldn't get right back to watching the game. The chips were stail, queso dip was cold . Just all around terrible from the service , to the food, to the cleanliness. Went about 3 years ago and it was awful , forgot why we stopped going but was quickly reminded. Plus its outrageous for prices, I get inflation but their wings are like frozen bar wings that you get for $1 a wing. Not 10 wings for $16 dollars! If I would have been a secret shopper they would of been scored 0% will never be back. For 2 adults and 3 kids, Bill was over $100. Kids were over it at this point and tired, stood there WAITING 10-15 MINUTES, kids walking around crying, begging us to lets go home. We were waiting on the waitress to bring us our cards back. She stood there chatting it up, 5ft away. She seen us STANDING there WAITING, none of us were sitting down anymore. We were packed up and ready togo. But her conversation was more important then getting us out of there with crying kids. If you want good wings, detriot wing company is the best around! Great prices, wings are nice and big and full of chiken. Not like this place where you get more skin then meat. Check them out! don't waste your time...
Read moreA couple months ago we were in as we always are for BOGO Thursdays (and yes it's still BOGO with the app). Hub and my son ordered 10 boneless (buy 10 get 10, so 20 total), my daughter and I got 10 traditional each. 2 separate orders.
We waited FOREVER and kept reassuring the server no problem, we're fine, it's OK.
An hour and a half later our order comes out and the boys immediately dig into their boneless wings. But as I tried to figure out which of the traditional were my Asian Zing and which were my daughters Orange Chicken I realized our traditional wings looked AWFUL, but not only that... they put both orders on one tray (which I know is common) with my Asian sauce making her wings too spicy for her.
So we waited for the server to come around and I very politely said I'm so sorry to complain, but our wings look awful, and she offered to bring us boneless? I said if we could just get this order remade they would be great, and if they could separate the 2 flavors I'd appreciate it because the Asian zing made hers too spicy.
Someone in a gray shirt came around and actually ASKED why we sent them back. I said... they didnt look good, the drums were hard and the sauces mixed together were too spicy for my kid, and I apologized and thanked him for remaking the order.
A few minutes later the same guy in the gray shirt brought our "remake" out. The 2 sauce orders were separated and when he asked "how do they look now?" I thanked him and said they looked much better, because they did at first.
Once we started picking them up to eat them i realized... they were the same exact SAME wings we sent back. I have photo proof 💀 at that time, my husband realized that instead of 20 boneless wings they'd only eaten 6 each and had 3 left so... they got 15 instead of 20 🙄
We didn't bother saying anything else because we'd been there 2 hours already, but to the dude in the gray shirt... you know who you are cuz you're the only one I've EVER seen week after week wearing a gray shirt.... you thought you were getting one over by resaucing and turning our wings over so we didn't see the crappy bits again... but know everytime I see you in the restaurant, I tell people "that dude tried to get one over and bring me the SAME ish as a remake" 🙄
Also, EDITING to add.... STOP FREEZING YOUR MARINARA SAUCE! For like 5 weeks in a row the cup of marinara that comes with the cheese sticks is frozen solid. You HAVE to know...
Read moreI have visited the Southgate Mi. restaurant multiple times without issue, but my most recent experience was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I sat at the bar as usual and played two Keno tickets—one winning $52 and the other $152. Before turning them in, I verified my winnings using the Michigan Lottery app on my phone.
When I handed both tickets to the waitress to cash them out, I showed her the scanned results confirming the $152 win as I was happy about it. She proceeded to scan the $52 ticket, but then claimed the machine went down. She placed two tickets under a cup on the bar and asked me to wait while she rebooted the machine. After restarting it, she took back what she said were my tickets, and scanned them saying the one was showing it was already cashed. I looked at the ticket and realized it was not even one of my tickets.
When I questioned her about it, she insisted those were the only tickets she had, despite having previously acknowledged seeing my $152 win. She then said she needed to check the garbage and look around to find where my ticket she clearly pocketed could have gone. Eventually, the manager got involved, but their attempt to count the drawer was irrelevant since my winning ticket had never been scanned into the system.
To make matters worse, I was essentially accused of being dishonest, as they claimed security footage only showed her placing two tickets on the bar—one of which was not even mine. I know without a doubt they can see there was tampering going on at the machine during that time and Instead of resolving the situation fairly, they escalated the issue by calling the police when I refused to pay my tab, knowing I had just been deprived of my legitimate winnings. Unfortunately, the officers did not hear me out and asked me to leave, leaving me without my $152. The waitress clearly took my winning ticket to cash it out elsewhere.
This was a shocking and unacceptable experience. The lack of accountability from both the waitress and management, as well as the blatant mishandling of my winning ticket, was appalling. I know without a doubt if they checked the cameras footage they would clearly see tampering going on. I will not be returning to this establishment and strongly caution others to be wary of...
