Coastal Cottage — Local services in Southport

Coastal Cottage is a Diamond in the Rough. My guess is most people find it by accident. For us, it was after a trip to H&R Block next door. It has quickly become our favorite shop for furniture, decor, candles, gifts etc. Being a former Small Business owner, we always try to support small, local businesses like Coastal Cottage. Nestled in a tiny strip of small business's, it shares a parking lost with Wendy's fast food and Jersey Mike's. But there is always ample parking. As expected it was busy when we first visited. But that didn't stop one of the very lovely owners, Dina, from welcoming us to their store. Her daughter is co-owner. Both were very friendly and pleasant. We purchased the Mermaid, which was handcrafted by a local artist, on our first visit and returned a few days later for the furniture piece. (Both pictured) Our GSD Buddy was used to give the Mermaid scale. As you can see, he is not camera shy. Our only wish is for their continued success. Hope to see you both again real...

My husband and I have been coming to Long Beach ( Oak Island) and Southport, Nc since 1985. This area is my most favorite place on earth. I truly forgot all my jewelry so therefore, my sweet husband wanted to buy me some very special new jewelry. We came to this store because they sold locally made jewelry. I absolutely love items that are handmade by local artists. Dina was precious in helping me find exactly what I wanted. This store is delightful. The ladies that helped me were so helpful, caring really interested in what I wanted. My favorite artist is Silver Lining Stamping. I have ordered several of her pieces and given them as presents. This store is definitely worth your time to visit and meet sweet Dina. Thank you sweet ladies again for all your help . I am wearing some of my jewelry today....

If you're looking to decorate your home with a coastal décor, (and porch/patio), this place is a must-visit.

The place is filled with so many pretty things. I loved the pillows with the turtle and octopus designs, wall décor and signs, kitchen items, the driftwood pieces, accent pieces, mirrors, furniture, fun nautical items, and locally made items.

My friends and I walked out with some purchases.
