My experience with The Mattress Capitol could not have been better. I originally chose to purchase my mattress and box springs from the store because out of the three I visited, it was the only one with a knowledgeable sales person who did not follow me around like I was going to steal something - I HATE being constantly talked to and followed while shopping.
My bed was scheduled to be delivered yesterday afternoon, and when 5pm came and went I called customer service to see if I was still scheduled for a delivery. The man who answered the phone confirmed that I was still scheduled for an evening delivery, but told me that deliveries were running behind due to a few hold ups and asked if I would like to be moved to the next morning so the time would be more convenient. I explained that my bedroom furniture had already been moved in preparation for the delivery by my husband who would not be home, and that since I am pregnant I cannot move it back myself - so, I would like to keep the evening delivery.
About an hour later I got a call back. Apparently the man I had spoken with was the owner of the company, and he told me that after I told him I was pregnant he decided that he wanted to UPGRADE my bed to a much nicer pillow top. The bed got here soon afterwards and is beautiful and very, very comfortable. The delivery men were very quick and efficient, and they apologized again for the late delivery.
Unfortunately, it is very common to run into poor customer service these days. My experience with The Mattress Capitol was a marked difference from the norm. Not only were their sales staff, customer service, and delivery service knowledgeable and polite, and not only is the bed I received exemplary, the owner of the company went above and beyond "good customer service" and gave me the best baby gift ever. What he doesn't know is that we are co-sleepers and that our two year old is still often in our bed and that her new brother will be, too. Read moreI would have loved to give this company a great review as the Sales Guy was really nice and helpful and I felt like I got a good value and product but after the delivery of the Box Springs and mattresses it all went south. I wound up not needing the Twin XL box springs for the King bed and the box springs for the twin beds ere the wrong size too . They agreed to swap out the 2 Twin box springs but would not take back the King XL's . The excuse was once they were out of the plastic they could not take them back but yet they swapped out the twins.... hmmm . The delivery guys had them out of the plastic and on the bed before we could even see it happen and I have a picture showing just how high the bed would have been had I used them. You would need a step ladder to get on the bed. I called the company immediately and again afterward but they gave me a runaround both times. Said I should sell them on marketplace , seriously..... I ordered the box springs over the phone the day after ordering the mattresses once my actual bed was in place so I could make sure of the exact measurement of the box springs I would need if any. The sales person put me on hold and came back to tell me the depth of the mattresses which I measured while I was on the phone with him to make absolute clear I ordered the correct height. Turns out I didn't even need one for the King Bed and the 2 twins were too low .... I called into the store two times to verify delivery date and a promotion from Tempur-pedic. When the equipment was installed the hardwood floors were scratched. The installers denied doing this. I told them I had just wiped the floor that morning and floor was not marked. The next day I approached Chad about the incident plus a missing connecting strap. I also requested information on programming the remote. Chad immediately made remarks about me calling the store. He had no information on the connecting strap and was not interested with the remote questions. There was no other customers on site requiring his attention. He seemed to have an attitude problem. I CALLED TEMPUR-PEDIC service. They are sending the connecting strap and answered my questions on the remote. Selling top quality equipment should require better...
