Hobby Lobby — Local services in Southport

I've dealt with some stupid things in my life but this one takes the cake. I needed four three yard sections of beige jute fabric to use as tablecloths for the local farmer's market which I attend in the summertime. I went to the fabric section and told them what I needed and was told that I could not buy four 3-yard sections and that they could only sell me a 12 yard sections. If I wanted four sections I would have to come back four times. Over the course of the next 20 minutes, I proceeded to go back and forth between the fabric section the checkout line and my car to buy four separate pieces of fabric. Ignorance taken to a new height and Intolerance at its best. I've never experienced something so stupid in my life. What kind of Christians are you anyway? Don't answer I know. The kind that don't go out of their way to do anything for anybody...

It’s a good Hobby Lobby. It’s nice not to have to go all the way to Wilmington or Shallotte to get craft supplies. I’m giving three stars because of my initial experience not being so great though. I was buying a sweatshirt and I didn’t realize it was mixed in with long sleeve shirts of the same color so when the price came to be more than expected, I went back to price check it myself. The manager proceeded to talk bad about me to the cashier while my husband was standing right there when I went to do this. I’m not sure if she knew he was my husband, but that’s not a very nice thing to do regardless. Everyone has an off day so hopefully...

Staff other then employees at checkout are attentive and helpful. The cashiers are nice but there seems to be several employees always lingering around the registers that don't actually help with the checkout process. In my experience, they hover near the front and will wait and call for additional help once you have been in line a minimum of five minutes. These employees have not got on the registers during my visits. This is a common checkout time due to the antiquated pricing process.
