When we first moved to the area, this pharmacy was a great place to go. They offered same-day refills, and the staff was generally friendly. However, it seems like this might be a corporate decision, but many of their prescriptions are now filled off-site and not ready until the next day after 2 p.m. This has happened twice already. I submitted a refill for Saturday before 5 p.m. and went to pick it up on Sunday, only to be informed that it was filed off-site and wouldnāt be ready until Monday after 2 p.m. My wifeās prescriptions, which are important, are also experiencing this issue. The doctor submitted both prescriptions, but neither is ready yet. One prescription is filled off-site and will be received 24 hours later, while the other is out of stock and waiting for delivery. First of all, the drive thru is an ācaptiveā one. That is, if you get tired of waiting (like being the 7th car in line) you cannot pull out and just go inside. Youāre blocked by a curb and thus you are committed to the wait. The drive thru also provides a convenient place for someone to hide and rob customers while they waitā¦and you canāt escape.
Once at the window, I tried to give the attendant my ID. Instead we went through several attempts at understanding my last name (one syllable). Attendant had trouble understanding my name multiple times. This is the whole idea behind presenting my IDā¦it tends to avoid such problems and speeds-up the process.
This was the final chapter in a week-long effort to get a prescription filled. In the four years Iāve lived here, Iāve tried getting prescriptions filled at Walgreens a couple of times.
