This would be the number one thing to make this a usable little village, and a destination, where one could stay in a hotel or live in the apartments or park once, and access all of the shopping and such without driving. Great opportunities here for the sloping terrain to be a feature, with a footbridge, perhaps with water feature, from the hotel area to the commerce area. The atmosphere is really great; it's quiet, there are books for everyone, and there's classical music on that you can actually hear, to name a few awesome things. I also like the drive thru. You order and they'll help you nicely with it if you want to know more about their unique drinks. Gotta love their beignets! Got them almost all the time; they're fresh and hot! Food is good too. Read moreI came hoping to see the Spanish fort. Security for the fort was far more lax than expected. While I was there not a single conquistador or pikemen were in evidence. I felt slightly anxious knowing Napoleonic or British troops could storm in unopposed at any moment. Most of the other visitors seemed unaffected and just continued haggling with the vendors, of which there were far more than expacted.
