Kobold's Keep — Local services in Sparks

As a newcomer, it was a bit intimidating coming to a card shop for the first time. The general manager (I believe her name was Jess) made my experience so comfortable. She was super knowledgeable and very patient answering all my questions. Gave me tons of confidence and all the info I needed to make an informed decision. I work in sales and the way she conducted herself is exactly how you earn and retain business.

I have since been to several other card shops in the Reno area. On two different occasions, employees of these other shops mentioned “some card shop in the basement of a church” but they proceeded to bad mouth this shop, which I found to be very unprofessional. I could go on and on about the negative experiences that I had at these other shops, but all I could do was walk out of them and grin knowing that Kubold’s Keep was the only shop in Reno that would have my business.

Seriously, Jess thank you for being kind, knowledgeable and patient. The world needs more people like you. She is definitely an asset to this business and deserves...

I've been to (and played at) almost every card shop here in Reno/Sparks, and the Keep is easily the best. The shop itself is your normal hobby store, cards, board games, miniatures, and all the accessories you need. The staff are all wonderful and what really start to set this place apart, helpful, welcoming, and knowledgeable, they set the tone for the various communities that play here, as well. A positive place to enjoy games with friends and meet new folks with shared interests.

Took my nephew here for last saturday's Pokémon tournament hosted by the shop. My nephew started getting into the TCG outside of collecting after I got him playing the games in the series. Ed not only took the time out of his own day (which was quite busy with people participating in the tourney and shopping) to show my nephew how to build a deck, he even ran through the game mechanics and rules and played a full game with him.
