Harbor Freight — Local services in Spokane

We have been to this Harbor Freight store more times than we can count. For the most part all of the employees and supervisors go out of their way to be friendly, understanding, helpful and appreciative of our business, every single time that we have visited in their store on Nevada Street in Spokane, Washington.

There have been a few different issues over the past couple of years; some were minor issues and others were more major issues.  For example, we have had problems with items, issues with online purchases through their store and even an issue with a new clerk accidentally miss-charging our credit card. It probably sounds like I'm trying to talk bad about the store, but I'm not. The problems that we've had we have had at other stores at different times and are just common problems that you would have in any store, but the difference is the way they were handled. Harbor Freight has wonderful customer service and they go out of their way to make everything right. That is what sets them out above all the others as far as quality customer service is concerned.

HFT has a program with many of their tools, I'm not sure if it's all or just some of them, but they have a lifetime guaranteed return, and some have extended warranties available. That makes up for the difference in the lack of quality in their tools versus other more high-end tools.

Tools. Tools. Tools. Great prices. Great warranty. Harbor Freight used to be known for 'throw away tools' as the quality was poor in comparison to the more expensive name brand tools. The quality has improved tremendously since then as well as their selection of all kinds of tools, hardware, clamps, lights, welding gear, garden stuff, paint supplies, gloves, winches, power tools, the list goes on and on.

They offer several price points on a large variety of power tools. It's set up similar to a good, better, best structure. For example a drill might come in three different varieties for the novice user up to someone using that tool everyday. Prices normally a reflection of quality and features offered. We tend to go with the higher priced item to get the best quality especially since it's still such a value compared to other brands! Plus we use our tools a lot! If you don't, then they have a good option for you as well!

Bonus: they offer a fantastic warranty and return policy, you really can't beat it.

Super friendly, courteous service but and it's a big one they didn't know what they were doing. I almost hate doing one star ratings but I walked out thoroughly upset.

I came in with a gift and gift receipt for return (I had received two of the exact same going) I was ready to shop, hoping just to get a gift card and then do some shopping while I was there. Somehow I initially got stuck with a guy that didn't have a clue what he was doing, I reiterate they all were super friendly, he got help and then before I actually understood what was happening they put the money from the original transaction on the credit card it was bought with.

Needless to say, if I only want to shop harbor freight I would go back to this store but if I actually need to do a return then I'm going to another store.

And I also reiterate they were all super friendly but the lack of understanding of policy was frustrating.

My roommate, unbeknownst to me, went in and questioned them about it and they said they could've given me store credit; that would've been nice to know. I would have been quite satisfied with store credit.

Oh well, my money won't make or break them.
