We are a married gay couple and lived in Riverview Lofts for two years. Like some of the other reviewers we moved in when several of the buildings were still under construction. Looking for housing in Spokane was very difficult and RL was a little on the expensive side but was one of the only places that had an apartment available in our time frame. They were very helpful in our cross-country move. After living there for a year we decided to renew because we loved the location so much. Yes, it is a little out of the way but there are still many amenities within a ten minute walk including grocery stores, bars, a Cafe, a few restaurants including a fancy dinner place, burgers, Mexican, and Chinese. There is also a city pool basically right across the street that has adult swim lanes open every day (pre covid...). We also walked back to our house from downtown Spokane a few times as most of what is in between the two is Gonzaga which is a very nice community area. If you like biking the location is ideal because the centennial trail passes right behind the complex and gives you direct access to downtown and all the breweries, restaurants, shops, and other things that has to offer.
There is a definite issue with homelessness by the bridge which we realize our whiteness and maleness helped us to avoid any super negative consequences from but it would be understandable to feel a little uncomfortable if you were alone or in some kind of at risk demographic. You basically have to cross the bridge to get anywhere. We did hear of people who were fearful of walking their dog in that area at night, not an issue we had personally. The area will only improve with time, however, as the city already has plans to build up the public infrastructure around the bridge.
The amenities in the units were amazing (and brand new for us). We were lucky enough to get a balcony that overlooked the river which was a real treat. The washer and dryer were great, as well as the dishwasher, garbage disposal, and stove. I also used the office gym many times before it was closed (they did since open it but it is small and I didn't feel comfortable going back).
The walls are not super thick and we did have issues with our downstairs neighbors complaining about us during our normal everyday activities. But they were a couple experiencing a breakup with yelling and the frequent slamming of doors (this is what we could hear and reported to the office a few times ourselves). If you can't handle apartment life, don't rent an apartment.
Lastly, the staff at RL have always been EXCEPTIONAL going above and beyond. They helped with our mail (sending us an important package that was delivered after we moved) and even offered to check in on our cat should we need it while on vacation!! I think it is definitely a situation where you get back what you put in, so they clearly have a baseline professional culture of customer services but if you are nice and curteous to them they can really help you out when you need it.
All in all RL made our time in Spokane...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWatch out for false advertising and scams! Beyond disappointed with results I got from this apartment and now am stuck in a lease. My fiancĆ© and I were moving from Portland to Spokane and were actively looking for a place! We were shown a beautiful one bedroom apartment and was told the only big difference in our actual complex would be the balcony door is an actual door instead of slider! After much consideration we chose Riverview loft apartments for our new home even though we had many great options and money wasnāt an issue! The day came to move in and I constantly called and emailed and left messages for the office to get back to me and they did not! Less than an hour before they close and being in town with a uhaul and needing to move my stuff I had to just go into the apartments myself finally to figure out what was going on. They were there and had me start my paperwork and payments! They said I was good to go but still have yet to show me my apartment so I had to ask to see it, NOT at all what I expected or was shown through email this was a HANDICAP unit with low counters no closet doors less storage and amenities other apartments would have, that I was paying full price for! After I mentioned something they said nothing else was available and at that point I had no choice but to move in. Very deceptive and I 100% know they knew what they were doing and did not care. Their fix for this deception was to take 2 months to buy me extra plastic Walmart drawers that donāt match my apartment.... not happy and wonāt recommend to anyone looking for a place to live ASK TO SEE YOUR ACTUAL APARTMENT BEFORE MOVING IN! They will not tell you if itās handicapped and they will not own up to or fix their mistakes. Being from out of town they took advantage of us knowing We couldnāt come see the actual apartment and put us in an apartment they couldnāt lease out. Very very unprofessional.... On a more positive note the apartments and grounds are kept tidy and nice! The maintenance guy is on top of everything and gets work orders done quick! If my beginning leasing experience was different with the office girls I might actually be pleased...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor the first couple years that we lived in Riverview Lofts, my wife and I had nothing but positive things to say; however, since about 2 years ago, this property has taken a hard turn downhill.
The past couple property managers have been incredibly rude (or maybe just incompetent?) and didnāt care to respond to issues unless they saw fit, and maintenance of the building and grounds is almost non-existent. The apartment complex markets itself as pet friendly but the pet areas are gravel with dirty overflowing trash bins and pet waste commonly litters the sidewalks around the complex. Garbage juice and dirt covers the stairs and sidewalks, as it has been about 3 years since anything around the complex has been given a simple spray down. Have a minor issue that management doesnāt like? Boom. You get a 15-day comply or vacate notice. No phone calls or courtesy notices here folks. We have had to practically beg management to do the most important part of their jobs and give us lease renewal paperwork, and then were treated as a bother when we finally asked them to send it. The list goes on and on with this place.
For the steep price you pay for a unit, you would expect the above to not be an issue. You would expect to get treated like a human being who lives here and calls your apartment your home. Nope. Riverview Lofts portrays themselves as luxury but between the crappy appliances, the cheap āniceā finishes, and how generally run down the entire complex is, they are everything but luxury. I would never recommend that you live here, and as others have said, hope you only have one car.
PS: most of the positive reviews on here are essentially paid/fake. They have regularly ran āleave a 5-star review and get XX freeā contests, which never...
