De Leon’s Taco & Bar #2 GU — Restaurant in Spokane

Have been to the South Hill and North locations, so tried this location tonight. My past experience has been pretty good food and service, but not tonight. Tonight we put in a relatively large order to go for the entire family. Upon picking up the order, the staff made a mistake (we ordered one two enchilada meal with green sauce and they thought we ordered two meals) this was in addition to the other three meals we ordered. The staff member proceeded to argue with us saying we said two meals when we said a TWO ENCHILADA meal not two enchilada meals. Fortunately, there was a kind customer standing by while the manager made a scene, who volunteered to buy the unordered additional meal because the manager was demanding we pay for an additional meal we did not order. I'll admit, this was extremely uncomfortable thing to behold and we're not confrontational people. After we got home with the food, we realized an entire dinner was missing. We promptly called the location and the manager argued with us claiming that we left with three bags when we only had two. He refused to make it right and basically said we were lying. Never in all my years have I experienced such poor service. We called the South Hill location (which we normally order from) and they provided a refund. However, one of our family members went without dinner tonight because they refused to make it right in the rudest way possible. We will NEVER visit this location again and would 100% not recommend. I’ve ordered De Leona through food delivery and thought the food was okay but over priced for delivery so I thought why not support the business and go fine in right? NOPE THATS WHERE IT WENT WRONG. And I should have known that mediocre “Mexican food” meant the service would be abdominal and it was! Me and my roomate went into the restaurant yesterday June 26th between 8pm and 9 pm and immediately as we walked in were met with unwelcoming looks. My roommate who has a disability tried to communicate that he wanted to sit at the bar to have a drink and look at the me since we usually order from food delivery and the me yes and prices tend to differ. As we sat at the bar the staff comes up and says you can order to go but my boss (Collin) said we can serve you! I was initially dumbfounded because we were provided no reason nor did the manager come and talk to us and I would ask that you pull all you security fees and see that he was I. No way disrespectful or disruptive. My roomate was so embarrassed that he just wanted to leave and I think that’s what made me the most upset. Lack up communication and empathy from this place lead to my roomate feeling so bad he wanted to leave. We have been looking for a good place for street tacos and my husband said this place had the best reviews. So, we thought we would try it. We were greeted by a very friendly outgoing gentleman. So I thought, so far so good. The waitress came and took our drink order, then came back a minute and a half later and asked if we were ready to order. Like, that is not enough time to look over the menu. Then she said, “well I will get your drinks”. She came back with the drinks and took our order. (If you are wanting chicken, you are limited on your choices)The food, was a huge let down!! The carne asada street tacos were very dry and there was very little flavour. The “Rebel Fries” were very dry, the asada was dry, had no flavour , and the fries were even more dry. The “hot salsa” wasn’t hot and it had a funky texture. When the waitress came and took the fries away, my husband told her I didn’t like them and all she said was,” oh” and walked away. And then asked if we wanted boxes.
