For four years now, I have thought about making this post. Every girl dreams of her wedding dress shopping day and mine here was so disappointing. There is one of the only things that would change about my wedding. Whoever was assigned to me, had clearly never seen a wedding dress before in their life. They were unable to pull things or help the right direction. Once my bridal party had pulled dresses for me, she shoved me into a dressing room and said holler if I needed anything…. These dresses were heavy and hard to get into and I asked her. Can you not help me? My own sister stepped in to do her job.
She constantly brought me the wrong size. Which is amazing when every bride wants to feel fat while dress shopping…. She never helped pull the things I wanted…
Once I finally found something that I fell in love with I just needed a few additions…. I wanted so desperately to say yes to the dress and have my special moment… but on the other side of the mirror there was a screaming child who previously was being allowed to run around the store…. Upon asking management to help with that situation, they said that there was nothing that they could do… Once again, my bridesmaid stepped in for me to do what a manager should’ve done hours ago…
I wish I could tell you the name of the girl that was working there however I’m doubtful she still works there..
My advice to you would be if you do decide to come here that you go ahead and make sure that whoever you have helping you has worked there for a while and that’s what they’re doing.
I hope your other bride has the kind of experience...
Read moreDo yourself a favor and just drive to the Tampa one, especially if you’re a plus size bride (and ask for Faith). I had 13 dresses that I liked from the website, Spring Hill had 2 that I could try on (size 18-22). That’s a hard way to start the appointment but I understood and was prepared for that possibility (it’s why I had 13 options). I decided to try on the 2 they had and looked for additional options. Several times during the appointment I asked for specific recommendations and was met with very little ideas or help. Examples were: I like the way this corset fits, do you have any other options like this? I was told no not really. I also asked for advice on how to make a dress appear more like a ballgown with no advice offered (Faith in Tampa showed me several options including hoop skirts and petticoats). When I went to the Tampa location, I was also given a long line bra and slip to wear which I was never offered at this location (I had to stand in my underwear with the consultant in the dressing room). Overall, the difference in service, options, and knowledge between the two locations was staggering. My first experience at Spring Hill was disappointing but I’m so glad I gave the Tampa location a chance. David’s Bridal is a good company and has beautiful options, you just need to go to the right one. Congratulations to all the...
Read moreI went to David’s bridal for a bridesmaids dress a month and a half before the wedding. I picked out my dress the same day I went in. They told me it wouldn’t be ready until 5 days before the wedding. The hemming was wrong. The dress was so long I could walk on it. We’re talking 5 days before the wedding. I spoke to Joe about cutting it shorter, I asked Joe to readjust my straps on my dress and he couldn’t simply do that. His exact words were “ Jesus, what the hell “. I went back today (Monday) to get the dress. Not much of a difference. Not really happy with the outcome and I’m upset that they pushed my pick up date to 5 days before the wedding. Yet, had time to recut my dress on a two day notice. I wish I could get a refund for the all the money I just blew on this dress, I’m not even satisfied with the outcome. Robin the store manager called me to apologize on their behalf and offered me to come in on Friday. Robin said in the voicemail “I see the wedding is on Friday” THE WEDDING IS IN A WHOLE OTHER STATE. YOUR RECEPTIONIST ASKS ON THE INTAKE FORM WHERE IS THE WEDDING GOING TO TAKE PLACE AT? ITS IN NEW YORK! I TOLD LILLIAN I AM LEAVING THE SECOND - WHICH IS TOMORROW! I appreciate the apology, but sorry doesn’t fix the length of the dress, nor the unprofessional experience I had at...
