I've attended since 2010, member since 2012. Two services held on Sundays, with second service being twice as busy as first service. Prayer service held on the Wednesday night of the month. The worship music has two speeds - fast and loud, and faster and louder; but what church doesn't these days unless you go back to a hymnal (which I wouldn't mind). The worship atmosphere is casual and laid back which is good or bad, depending. Tough to see football jerseys, coffee cups, and hats in the Lord's sanctuary for me. The women's ministry seems to be much more active than the men's ministry, which isn't saying much since the men have 1 picnic, once per year (update: the picnic has been cancelled the last two years). The Children's ministry is strong with lots of involvement. If you have children, you're much more likely to find connections with others at ECC. The church is currently undergoing a major renovation to pretty it up and add parking. Should be very nice when finished, around March of 2017. Update: the construction is...
Read moreWe relocated to MN back in 2012 and have been searching for a church ever since. Our Church in Iowa had Nate Ruch speak awhile back and recommended we try Emmanuel. We were apprehensive because this is a very large Church...but after hearing the message, we are here to stay.
We are so glad we did for a number of reasons. Our 5 and 10yr olds love the kids church. They routinely talk about the messages and truly love going back every week. This was new to our 5yr old as we had not found a Church since she was born back in 2012.
As adults, we find Nate's messages relevant and current. He and his ministers apply God's Word to real world examples, and the message really has an impact on our lives. He tells it like it is and doesn't worry if it "strikes a nerve."
We are so happy that we found a Church to plant our roots, and with the help of the Church, we will grow...
Read moreThe diversity here makes me feel comfortable and welcome. Large spaces allow for all different comfort zones. We prefer to sit half way back off to the side on the main floor and there is a large rap around balcony, too. People are genuine, laid back, kind- creating a positive experience. Nate makes me laugh at myself and him while thinking about myself in the world. The praise and worship music is right on tempo. Easy to join in. Free coffee or go to the coffee shop for espresso drinks, cold drinks, or munchies. New kids space. Kids grouos of all ages. We actually have fun here. And sometimes feel like crying here. We shopped all over Mpls/St Paul for a church that we could grow with, we found Emanual and Woodland Hills in Maplewood kept...
