Congregation Israel of Springfield — Local services in Springfield

Remember this shul and it’s congregants from my days learning in the Springfield yeshiva. Rabbi Marcus big talmid Chacham and mensch. Miss the Springfield days. Some great chevra, namely: Shelly cohn, steven prayer a”h, and many more. We once had Chanukah mesiba and hachnasas Sefer Torah in the shul social hall. Very nice place. No mention of Reb Eli Meir Sorotzkin z”l found that odd, especially regarding the Mikva…. But really...

I went to my first Barmitzah here. I've never been to an Orthodox Temple and didn't know the women sit separately from the men, interesting. I was told the ceremony, when Tyler read from the Torah, went very well. I was impressed with how much he had to read and that he had to memorized it. Great shul: The congregation is a bit on the older side. A lot of young families, but not a lot of young single people. The rabbi is a very passionate speaker.

They usually have an early minyin and a later miyin on shabbat morning. The food is good but the...
