I recently moved to Springfield from Brooklyn and have tried a few things from Tom’s because I want to like it.
Cheese slices are thin, but I enjoyed. They don’t look appetizing when you walk in but they taste good once heated. They are priced right.
Cheesesteak was.. fine. The chopped meat wasn’t seasoned, it was literally chopped meat cooked and placed on a roll with cheese hugging the bread, with the expectation that the hot meat would melt the cheese. It did, but the cheese was not spread throughout the sandwich. The bread was outstanding. If I go back, I’ll try another sandwich just for the bread. $11
The wings are the types of wings you buy at a supermarket deli - they’re fried with breading. Despite being called Buffalo wings on the menu and me ordering Buffalo wings medium over the phone, the wings I got were just fried chicken drumsticks without any actual Buffalo flavor or sauce. I had to toss them myself with sauce when I got home. They came with fries which were not crunchy, more on the soggy side. $14.50 for 10 wings
Mozzarella sticks were tasty. Good cheese pull, the mozzarella is a bit wet, so expect some hot drips. I’d get these again. They also come with fries. Same deal, soggy and...
Read moreI ordered 2 pizzas and wings and was promised “at least” 30 minutes for pick up. We got to the store in 25 minutes. Owner says another 10 minutes. Time was important because I was catching a bus to the city, which I told the owner about. I asked that a slice of pizza of each flavor be placed in a separate box and 6 wings in another box. The order took all of 54 minutes to complete with no pizza in a separate box, just a box of wings which was packed along with another box of wings. I just barely made it to my bus.
Tom: if you promise a delivery time, especially when it was explained to you why it’s important, you better make sure you can deliver on the promised time. A delay of 5 minutes could be acceptable but 24...
Read moreOk, this hole-in-the-wall place has just such ridiculously incredible subs that I need to post so that others know. 1) most importantly, they use fresh baked bread, and I know this cause I watched them take the bread out of the oven on a pickup order. 2)they're huge. 3) the meat to cheese to veggies/mayo is just right.
This is a tiny spot so you're not coming here to dine in (they have room for like 6 max). Order pick up or delivery. I can't speak to their pizza or really anything else but the subs must be eaten. Turkey and cheese cold sub and hot cheesesteak sub are my favorite thus far. I'm crazy enough to post again after I've tried them all and...
