GameMaster — Local services in Springfield

Great product selection. Old stuff has always been overpriced. They used to have good prices on newer product, but ever since Jerry seemingly disappeared they’ve started selling new products at 2x-3x over MSRP AND raising the price of other products. My other gripe is with how inefficiently the shop is operated. No online presence, no trade or buy? It’s 2025. With their selection and distributor hookups, they would be incredibly successful. I’d love to buy the place from them and release its full potential. Or even start some sort of partnership to rev things up. Lastly, Jerry himself is no big people person, but the two brothers that work there are a bit rude on occasion. They seem annoyed that there are customers, and they just don’t seem to want to converse. Also, clean up the shop. There are boxes all over and sometimes it sort of smells.

GameMaster is a great trading card store with a solid selection for fans of Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and other card games. While the store itself is a bit on the older side, it has a nostalgic charm that adds to the experience. Their inventory is impressive, and it’s easy to find what you’re looking for, whether you’re a collector or a competitive player.

The staff is knowledgeable and efficient, though they can come across as a little on the colder side. That said, they’re always willing to answer questions and offer advice if you need it.

I had previously given this location a 5 star rating. Upon my second visit I decided to decrease my rating. This store is incredible. There's no doubt however, this a scalpers heaven. The owner does not haggle prices, which is completely okay aside from the fact that his prices are double to quadruple what you can find elsewhere. For example, his celebrations packs that retail for 19.99 at Walmart are almost $50 dollars in his shop. Individual packs like steam siege are 10 dollars and they sell them for 5 dollars on eBay and also at collecto at the mall. Elite boxes are ridiculously priced. Please check ebay prior to making ANY large purchases here. He knows what he's doing and it's unfortunate that he can con people like that. Not okay. Unfortunately, I won't...
