If the modern vibe is a priority, you like the color orange and a lack of privacy while showering this is for you. Staff was nice. Room was clean and secure. Bed was comfortable, nice pillows, nice toilet. However, I prefer not walking into what looks like a cheap cafeteria for a lobby and having to drag my luggage between dining tables. It took a minute to find the check in area. A big chandelier by the elevators didn't seem to fit. Duck if you're tall. The 2 queen bedroom was very small. No information packet to tell guests where the vending, ice or anything else is. Had an information card about carbon monoxide poisoning. Never seen one of those before. Kind of wished I hadn't. Big TV right above the desk. Desk looked about 5 feet long and 13 inches deep. If you need to set up a laptop and do some work then ditch the ugly orange chair, get on your knees and maybe you can see your screen. No room too tilt your screen back a little. Strange wire racks in the desk. Not sure if it's where the workers put their power tools or if it's for filing or what. The whole thing is useless. The space between end of beds and desk is too narrow to drag a large suitcase through without moving furniture. Pack it light so you can carry it past the beds. There's no dresser. Drawers are in the end of bed. Hope your back doesn't hurt when you bend it. Stay to side of it so you can pull them out. Good luck. Small table in corner about 12 inches in diameter. Holds the ice bucket. Maybe I'll figure out where to get ice without running all over the hotel. The table might hold a small pizza. No plate though. It does have wheels not sure why. Beds and pillows are nice. Forget setting thermostat. It won't stay there. I woke up in middle of night sweating and coughing because it was miserably hot. I get saving energy but if I pay for the room I expect to be able to sleep in a comfortable temperature. The bathroom. Now this is a double queen. I'm sharing a room with my adult daughter. I prefer to shower in private. The walls are glass and two of them make up part of the bedroom walls. It's frosted, sort of. I can't see out of them. But she could see in. Not minute details but well enough to know if I was washing my hair or my ass. I know I'm old, all the more reason I like to shower privately. The shower head looked like some kind of probe. Not sure if it was for colon cleansing or douching. I decided to use it for a shower instead so don't worry. It weighs a bit so don't let it slip out of your grip when washing hair. It will hurt. Water pressure is great if you turn it all the way to hot and don't mind being scalded. If pressure is too high it will shoot across tiny shower about 8 inches above my head. I'm average height. The sink is wide and takes up over half of the meager counter space. It's about 3 and 1/2 inches deep. Don't crack your knuckles on bottom of sink. You'll have to lay your hand towel on the counter or under it. Clean towels are on a wire rack above toilet. Your bath towel can hang on door. You can lay your clean clothes on toilet seat or floor. The lighting sucks but it had a cool vibe. Not sure my makeup went on right. Oh well. Now I'm not usually picky about the decor. Orange, it looks like a pumpkin puked all over the room. Orange is ok on pumpkins, leaves and a few flowers in small doses. Orange is not my thing maybe it's yours. There's a striped shade on the window. It's just butt ugly. Oh there's what looks like a projector screen you can pull down over one of the transparent shower walls on the bedroom side for a little more privacy. The closet consists of a few hangers on 2 hooks on the wall. There's a clothes steamer not an iron. The nice closet makes it easier to steam your clothes and the wall at the same time. Hope that isn't wall paper there. There's a small frig, a Keurig no microwave. I like to provide my own coffee. Can't do that here. Now I can do sleek, minimalist modern vibe with internet etc. However, I do want the basics. I'll pass...
Read moreStayed with Vib Best Western for nearly a week to move in my sister to Missouri State University. Overall, the stay was wonderful and the staff was inviting, but I have some very small grievances about the property that I think should be addressed.
The property is new and modern, but does not feel like it was designed by someone that actually stays in these hotels. The elevator would be a good example...several guests were confused about the ground floor level, mezzanine, and first floor buttons on the elevator which meant they were often pressing level one thinking level one is the lobby...when it is actually the 1st level of rooms. So then they would press M after striking out on Level 1, only to have to press the final button to take them to the lobby. You'd think that would be common sense, but I can't tell you how many times we ran into guests that were acting like lost puppies on the elevator. Some better signage/descriptions in the elevator may help alleviate this issue.
The room itself was fine. We stayed in a two queen room facing the east side and requested at the counter to not stay on the parking lot side. They can't guarantee this placement, but we were happy they were able to accommodate this nonetheless. Street noise is not horrible, but if you were staying close to the street then perhaps it would have become an issue. We slept fine otherwise.
Previous complaints regarding the glass showers are valid...but the property has taken steps to address the privacy concerns by adding blackout curtains on the side facing towards the beds, a frosted privacy film neck level down, and signage on the shower faucets on how to operate them. The only thing that I believe is worth noting is that the bathrooms (at least our bathroom) did not have an exhaust fan, which has not only taken a toll on the paint due to the accumulating steam over the months and years since opening, but sharing the restroom with a family of three created some...smelly situations. We often used the restrooms in the lobby for that reason. That's a little harder to fix, but is not uncommon for hotels of this scale and price point to have an exhaust fan and not just a vent.
Overall, we were pleased with the stay and will very likely book with this property in the future to visit...
Read moreMy stay at this hotel was far from ideal due to a number of issues that significantly impacted my experience.
Firstly, the room size was shockingly small. It felt cramped and uncomfortable, and there was hardly enough space to move around comfortably. This was disappointing, considering the amount of money we spent on the room.
Secondly, the thin walls in the hotel were a major issue. I could hear every noise and conversation from the neighboring rooms, which disrupted my sleep and made it hard to relax. This lack of soundproofing was unacceptable and contributed to the overall discomfort of my stay.
Thirdly, the frequent and disruptive alarms that would go off randomly throughout the night in our room, without having been set by us. This was an unexpected and frustrating disturbance, as it interrupted our sleep and made it difficult to feel rested the next day.
Lastly, the customer service was terrible, with a front desk woman named Emily being particularly rude and unhelpful. She interrupted my personal conversation, which was highly unprofessional and unwelcome. Additionally, the hotel took no effort in compensating us for our discomfort, which was a significant letdown.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room size was too small, the walls too thin, and the alarms too frequent, making for an uncomfortable and unpleasant stay. The terrible customer service and lack of compensation for our discomfort only added to the disappointment. It is disappointing that the hotel did not take any action to address these issues or make an effort to improve our experience.
To address the owner's response: After my reservation was canceled due to the local's policy, the other person in my party booked the reservation, and I stayed the night as a guest under their booking. This did not happen in a span of...
