First and above all the ambiance is calm, welcoming, and not over the top with the unnecessary. All the staff members were incredibly professional and nice. For a little background: both of our boys have had more bad haircuts than we'd like to admit. In fact, getting them to go today was like trying to drag them to the oral surgeon...... There were lots of ugly words, and almost tears, at the thought of another buster brown cut. Once we got there we were checked in right on the dot for our appt time and the entire experience was a far cry from the previous places we have been. Dez and Vincent were our barbers today. Our older boy has some mad respect for Vincent. He asked him all sorts of questions about what he wanted in a haircut, and even went back in to cut it a little shorter. The boy has now changed his mind about growing his hair out because he loves the cut so much. Dez, she treated our boy's haircut like the unique individual cut it is. She noticed things that other barbers have NEVER even noticed. She was able to adapt to the crooked hairlines and double cowlicks. They were both just so amazing and we just cant thank them enough. I have been taking my son here for years for cuts and today was turned away because his hair is curly and they would not have enough time for the cut. The same curly hair we’ve had cut there multiple times, never have they indicated that he needed a different type of appointment or turned him away before. I took time out of my work day to get him to this appointment and I am aghast at their willingness to waste my and my son’s time. It is also not indicated on their site that they would need extra time. I was able to view his last four cuts on their site and they were all the same cut (original) we had scheduled for today for the same amount of time. When I called back to confirm I was not charged the cancellation fee (which to their credit, I was not) I was told he would have needed the “stay sharp” service which includes a skin fade. We were NOT looking to get a skin fade very specifically, but they didn’t even ask -just took one look at him and said they couldn’t do the cut. In Springfield for the week & looking for a good local place for a haircut and went here off the rec’s on Google. Arrived 15 mins early for the appointment and waited. At the appointment time they informed me that the barber with whom I had an appointment with was a no show. They said I could go to another location but I’d have to set another appointment. So to set the appointment to begin with, I had to go online set up an account and use their online booking application to set the appointment. Then drive from my hotel to the location. I informed them of my schedule and the fact I was from out of town. It fell on deaf ears. No mention of a discount or any other remedy for their failure to meet their schedule. They were seemingly happy to inconvenience me and direct me to another location - out of sight out of mind I guess. So, they may give great haircuts, I’ll never know, but what I do know is their problem solving and customer service skills are very lacking. One star from me because that’s as low as it goes. I do...
