TLDR: Shop for cards only, dont buy board games, dont sell cards here!! The Gamestop of card and board games. I will give it to them that buying cards is made as simple as possible and is quite easy. The cost of the cards in comparison to their value on tcgplayer checks out. The cards here cost approximately 60% of their price on tcgplayer. What I don't understand is the price gouging involved in their board games. I frequent two other board games/card game based local shops and the prices are not nearly as high. Additionally, I would not try to sell cards there. They will tell you over the phone that they pay store credit of 60% of their worth in store (which is less than tcgplayer), but even so, when you do the math, they either dont offer any money at all or offer you 10% of the 60% you already did the math on. This is extreme. I was sad the first time it happened because I sent my boyfriend to get store credit for almost $100 worth of cards straight from the packaging. They gave him $15. I let it slide because I was not there and did not know what was said/done. This time I did my research again and went in with some cards worth about $5-6 and others worth pennies. I showed them the higher end cards first, not expecting much out of them. They then proceeded to lie to my face and say the cards werent even worth 50cents together. Took it somewhere else where I got their...
Read moreI've been coming to this store off and on for 19 years. Ever since they were located on Glenstone. I have a severe heart condition that keeps me from wearing a mask. I was just ejected from here for my medical condition. Enjoy the letter from my attorney.
Edit: in response to the owners response. The local city council order which on its face is unconstitutional, says specifically "unless that person has a medical condition that does not allow them to wear a mask." The Americans with disabilities act specifically states that all businesses must accommodate any persons medical condition. My attorney is drafting up the necessary documents as we speak. Masking, which does absolutely nothing and the data from the cdc its self supports that statement, is not what kept me from entering your business. You screaming at me to leave and when I said I had a medical condition screaming you didn't care and to get out, is what kept me from entering your business. No wonder you keep having to...
Read moreAs an out-of-towner, my first visit to Springfield this weekend was an outstanding experience, due mainly to the fine folks behind the counter at Meta Games. I'm always on the hunt for out-of-print and obscure roleplaying games. Despite a nice selection of OOP products (as well as a wide variety of the latest board games, RPGs, CCGs, and Wargames, mind you) I didn't find what I was looking for. The folks at Meta Games suggested a number of other FLGSs in the area that might meet my needs, and (as it was close to lunch time) pointed me in the direction of some fantastic local fare. After a wonderful lunch, a whirlwind tour of Springfield's FLGS offerings, and a superb dinner, it was back to Meta Games to say Thank You--and purchase a hand-made tankard my wife was eyeing during our first visit. Thanks again for making our visit to Springfield...
