Millet and Hammer — Local services in Springfield

Based on other reviews, perhaps my experience was unusual, but I received the worst customer service of my life from Millet & Hammer. After ordering a custom pottery piece I reached out to them because the item I received wasn't what I had ordered. They offered to make a replacement piece, then proceeded to string me along for months of "working on it". Knowing that their pieces take time, I checked in periodically allowing for the fact that it could take several weeks to make. Every time I reached out, I had to follow up again after 4-5 days to get a response. They kept telling me they would have it out soon, until finally after 5 months had passed I asked if I could just have a refund since at that point following up and then following up on my follow ups every month or so was getting really irritating. That's when they ghosted me. I have not been able to get a response from a Millet & Hammer employee since, and they ignore all my attempts to contact them. I'd expect that kind of treatment from some cheap company on Amazon, but it's a real disappointment from a place that appears to be a small American business with some integrity (or so I thought). Frankly it's just an incredibly rude way to treat a customer no matter who you are. Love this place. Amazing artists and great place to put in work or come by and shop for unique art pieces. There is welding, pottery classes, an affordable workshop and art display area. For $20 a month you can go and utilize the studio and their tools. They also have a woodworking shop and pottery wheels some easels and pottery for sale.
