Recently took my Google Pixel 9 Pro XL here to see what they would offer me for it. The phone itself is in very good condition, and has been unlocked from T-Mobile after paying off my remaining balance. The Associate up front was very friendly and upfront that they would only typically offer about 50% of the phones actual value. This I have no issue with, I understand that they are a business and need to make a profit.
However, after inspecting the phone, he told me that according to whatever software they use, my device was coming up as locked to T-Mobile. I just assumed that it was some sort of issue with T-Mobile and left to check with a store that was down the road in the Mall. Long story short, after a call with customer service and a discussion with staff, they phone was showing up as already carrier unlocked.
I go back to Pay More and let him know that according to T-Mobile, the phone is not carrier locked. He once again did his thing on the computer but it still apparently came back as carrier locked to T-Mobile. To his credit he did try resetting the phone again and even went to the back to call his manager to see if there was anything he could do. When he came back nothing changed. The manager allegedly stated that whatever the computer said is what they had to go with.
This is where the issue comes in. For a phone that is carrier locked (which mine isn't but was showing up as it was for some reason), they were only prepared to offer me around 200-300 dollars. This is way below 50% of what the device is worth.
Not really sure if this is a common issue with Pay More, but honestly at that price you would be ahead to just keep your phone. Especially when they would likely still sell the phone at what it's worth, while giving you less...
Ā Ā Ā Read more(Read full review to understand my full experience) I usually donāt leave reviews unless it was an amazing experience or really bad but I was very much mixed with this one. I came there because I never heard of this place and looking at the reviews they seemed like a good bet to sell my items. I brought In a never used practically brand new CPU which is one of the higher end ones hoping to get atleast 300 (brand new ones are selling for around 500-$600) and a used but still in decent condition OLED laptop. I was told my CPU was not going to sell for much and was offered $120 and laptop $60. Keep in mind there was a guy before I got up to the counter trying to sell his stock camera lense and was offered $40 so a laptop is worth only $20 more dollars to them then a stock camera lense that has no value ? Regardless I sold the laptop because I came a long way and Iām building A PC. I kept the CPU and just sold it for $400⦠doubling what they wouldāve gave me. Point is the workers are nice and the store is nice like most of the reviews say but it seems like unless you are a veteran at selling or pawning items they will lowball like every other pawn shop or quick cash store. Nothing really fair about their offers from...
