Please reward your employee Will for outstanding customer service. He saw a problem (long line, customer struggling to contain products) and solved it. It was back to school shopping, tax free weekend in VA and the college dorm crowd, which could have been a long wait and problematic customer service. Not on Will's watch! He was proactive rather than reactive. His customer service was stellar and top notch! Will checked me out in line using the mobile app and credit card reader. He saw my overflowing cart and got an employee large cart. He offered to take all the items to my car and didn't ask me to drive to the front of the store. Will carefully arranged the storage drawers in my SUV's trunk and back seat, making sure they were carefully stacked and I could still see out the rearview window. He followed up to make sure they were positioned okay and made sure I had everything I need. He was humble when I complimented him on his customer service and making the shopping experience so pleasant. I will be coming back to this location even though it is a bit farther than the Clarendon location due to the customer service and ease of parking. But the main reason is employees like Will. Read moreExtremely disappointed with the experience my girlfriend and I had at this location. We shop at The Container Store regularly and have never been treated the way we were here. From the moment we walked in, we were met with what felt like judgment. One of the employees — a heavier-set Black woman — didn’t greet us, didn’t offer help, and just gave us a look like we didn’t belong. Then she proceeded to follow us around the store as if we were doing something wrong. We were the only people of color in the store at the time, and it was hard not to notice that we were also the only ones being followed. The worst part? My girlfriend and I are Black, so to be stereotyped and made to feel uncomfortable by someone who looks like us was incredibly disappointing. It’s upsetting that in 2025 we’re still dealing with this kind of behavior — especially from fellow members of our own community. I do want to highlight that another employee, I believe her name was Felix, was amazing. Super friendly, helpful, and exactly the kind of service we’ve come to expect from The Container Store. She was the only positive part of the experience. Unfortunately, the rest of it completely ruined our visit.
