Atrocious experience. I brought my Movado in for a watch battery replacement. When the watch was handed back to me, the entire face of the watch (internal) was damaged beyond repair. We addressed this with the staff and were met with accusations and some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They were adamant that it was impossible that this occurred from a watch battery replacement. When we flipped the watch over, we saw that they had scratched and damaged the back of the watch. Yet another testament to the negligent practices. When this was brought to their attention, they tried yet again to cover their tails and buffed the scratches out. When asking what could be done about the extremely damaged watch, we were told that it wasn't their problem, they thought it was a "defect from the manufacturer." Keep in mind, I have had this watch for 3 years and have taken it to multiple Movado dealers. This was never brought to my attention by any of these individuals. The damage to the face is so severe that you could see it from feet away. I find it incredibly remarkable that they would make such errant claims.
The manager, Eddie, is remarkably rude. My husband called me to explain the situation and I asked if I may speak with the owner. He refused to speak with me for quite some time until I finally persuaded him. Throughout our entire conversation, he yelled and spoke to me like I was some type of idiot. At one point. I reminded him that we were both adults, that I had been nothing but kind in our conversation, and I would like to be treated with the same respect that I was extending to him. Additionally, I had to let him know that in adult conversations neither party should act like a toddler and throw temper tantrums.
They refused to fix my watch and have damaged it beyond repair. I am absolutely heart broken that my college graduation present from my Mother was treated so poorly and that the company responsible not only took no responsibility but also treated my husband and I like garbage.
I took my damaged watch to another jeweler and she immediately showed me signs of excessive force and negligence.
Please do not use this company! If I can save one person from going through the struggle they have caused I consider this review...
Read moreBuyers, servicers, everyone BEWARE!! I am an avid watch collector. My wife and I recently moved to the Alexandria area and I have been looking for a good watch repair company. Today I took my wife's watch into the store for a simple battery replacement. The individual took the watch back to the desk to take the case back off and replace the battery. When I received the watch back I was astounded by the damage that had been done. There were numerous deep scratches on the case back that could not be buffed out. Even worse the individual somehow found a way to scratch the dial of the watch. This is pure negligence from the jeweler. Upon confronting the owner about the terrible work that had been done he Eddie was extremely rude and in no way sympathetic of the situation. He was very argumentative and took no accountability. He would not offer any assistance to get the watch fixed. I have since contacted movado directly and have been quoted $150 to send the watch in and have the dial replaced. One would think in the jewelry business that $150 cost would be minute to do right to the customer. Beware of this jeweler as there are many finer jewelers a short drive away in falls church. Please don't allow this to happen to you and...
Read moreI will not be back to this jewelry store. They don't seem to take wearing masks seriously. I never saw the female employee, I assume a Greenan, put on a mask. A client walked into the store then left to retrieve a mask from the car. The female employee said she wasn't concerned. I told her she should be. She made a point then to retort that if she is not directly in front of me, which she wasn't, she was not concerned. Health officials have reported that the Covid-19 particles float in the air several feet. She continued to talk to sevetal clients sans mask. I felt extremely uncomfortable at that point and couldn't get out of there quick enough. I...
