San Miguel Cafe — Restaurant in Virginia

The word customer service is not part of their vocabulary. The food was horrible! My son ordered the steak and egg, the steak was over cooked and hard. I had their buffet which was ok, however the person helping, Luis was monitoring how many tortillas you could have so for a place that offers all you can eat the tortillas were limited. I normally support small businesses like this, but not when they are rude and the food is not at least decent. Another thing is the way they take your order, you have to pay before you can eat the buffet putting the waitresses in a disadvantage because it makes you think the place is self-serve because I was not able to tip them after unless you carry cash and who carries cash anymore these days?. First time here and first time trying Honduran food (I eat Salvadoran food a lot but hadn’t had food from Honduras). It was delicious! You order at the counter and pick a seat for them to prepare it fresh and bring it to you. I got the 4 catrachas with beef (fried corn tortillas with refried beans and ground beef and Honduran cheese) and my husband got carne asada, and both were delicious. The cafe is spacious and laid back, very clean as well, plenty of tables to eat alone or bring a group, and staff were very friendly. If I could give one area of improvement it would be to make a new rice recipe. I called for pick-up the lady on the phone advised the food would be ready in 15 minutes and hung up on me without asking for a name for the order (I thought it was wired). I got there after 20 minutes of placing my order and proceeded to pay and asked how much longer it would be, she advised 30 minutes that’s been I requested to cancel the order… that’s when the two ladies at the register got upset saying they would have to pay out their own pockets if I canceled. I ended purchasing the food anyways but they were extremely rude and confrontational towards me. Honestly, I would not recommend this place to anyone!
