One Word, "DISAPPOINTED" 2.5 stars
After reading the gleaming reviews I thought to myself, this must be the best place for sushi.....
Couldn't wait to go, but once there.... Well, my humble opinion, much better places everywhere.
FOOD:
We ordered 4 different sushi plates Beef bento box and fried ice cream.
Sushi, maybe for someone who has never compared to other sushi places, it may be good.
But it wasn't close. The sushi didn't taste as fresh as other locations. Something wierd about the taste. The fish did not have the consistency or texture I have tasted previously.
Disclaimer, I don't like seafood but for you guys I will taste every food out there.
Beef Bento, beef was over cooked, which made it hard and chewy. The sauce was not salty.
The dumplings were extremely oily! It was like putting a spoon full of oil in your mouth. First time I've had fried dumplings so oily. See pictures.
The other fried items, onions, sweat potatoes,etc.. were spot on. 👌
The best item was the fried ice cream. Together, the fried coating and vanilla ice cream made sense. All textures matched perfectly. My two cents, maybe ask the client if they may wish some warm chocolate to give the flavors an added dimension. The constant flavors can get boring. But this dish is definitely the only reason I would return. Go figure.
LOCATION
It's next to a major strip mall, in a small section with plenty of parking.
RESTAURANT
Small, tight. Not a place for a romantic or business meeting.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Lovely. Tom was excellent, knowledgeable and caring. Only because of Tom, the restaurant should be 5 🌟.
BATHROOMS
Clean and decent.

SUMMARY
They have strong potential but they need to get that quality control in check.
I will return to see if this was just a wrong turn...
Read moreThe food is good. we came here tonight (Vday), ask how long is the wait to get table, says 20-ish minutes but we got it before 20minutes. a good start, but after that, it took a while to get our order. when our server getting our order, it took her a while to understand my order even I pointed out, meanwhile my 20 months old daughter just threw her cup which spills water. we feel bad they have to mop it, but even after getting our order (sushi rolls, 2 takoyaki and 1teriyaki) but still took time, I guess there’s pick up orders too ahead of us. the sushi rolls came first before takoyaki(appetizer) and took 45minutes to get our teriyaki since we ordered. my husband and I feels like we’re just bothering them even we never follow up for our order to be look “patient”. the ambiance is like a “eat and go”, small space, not good for big group if you have. oh we ordered spicy scallop sushi roll but it didn’t taste any scallop at all, same taste as spicy salmon. the sushi rolls are good taste for the price though.
we didn’t tip after all because we think the slow service is even out from spill water by my daughter. also no offense but TIP is NOT MANDATORY, EVEN YOU WORK ON HOLIDAY. CUSTOMERS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SALARY.
WE DINE OUT TO TREAT OURSELVES BUT NOT TO TREAT STRANGERS WITH TIP. the other server chase us down to the parking lot, just to ask for TIP. at first they ask if there’s something wrong from service or food quality, so I said “service is so-so, food is good but its not mandatory for TIP” so she said “oh okay you know we are working for holiday” so I just said yeah sorry about that. and left.
I work in hospitality service, but asking for TIP is...
Read moreNo Stars for me but (1) since that is the only option. I would have liked to give a honest review of the food. However, couldn’t get pass the lack of hospitality and consideration shown. Upon entry you see a sign that says “wait to be seated”, my friend and I waited and were greeted by one hostess before another random lady came from the corner bar obnoxiously interrupting her and repeating what she had already said “table for two.” We ventured inside to see two patrons seated at a 4 person table among a visibly empty establishment. We kindly ask to sit by the window at a two person table. Mind you the restaurant is EMPTY at quarter to 6 on a Friday. The hostess responded “oh no we like to seat from the back first.” Eye roll as I pondered, why we were being seated behind a wall in the corner hallway, when the entire restaurant was empty?! She continued to explain that she needed tables free for 5 or more guest that SOMETIMES come. Hmm, but we are here now and there is a two person table open. Even if she wanted to make an adjustment and sit us at the table with the TWO other patrons at a FOUR person table, she could’ve. Instantly, we caught the vibe and kindly chose to go to Taiko sushi —where we were greeted with respect and received great service. It’s 2023, let’s catch up on being kinder and providing better...
