I frequent this store often as it is close to home and work. I usually shop in the morning on my way to work.I can find what I need most days as they tend to keep everything well stocked and organized. This particular day, I needed only produce and fruit. My husband and I raced to get to the store as I knew they were closing at 8 pm. We pulled up to the door at 7:51 pm. I quickly grabbed a cart. Before I could enter the store, the security guard( shorter black lady with short hair) came outside and announced that they closed in 6 minutes. I said okay I only need a few things. She proceeded to tell me that she had things to do like go sing. I said well go sing. She followed me inside telling me how she couldnât leave until everyone was out of the store. I told her I was well aware of the closing time and that I had did 80 miles an hour to get there before they closed. I then realized that the entire produce section was âclosedâ already because there were locked blinds covering everything. I immediately got upset because why would they close it BEFORE they closed? To save time so they could leave promptly? I wasnât the only person that she told they were closing so I wasnât the only last minute customer. She then asks loudly, where have yall been all day!? I stopped in my tracks and turned to her pointing to my name badge from the airport and apron while telling her I had been at work all day since 8 am and why does it matter? I also asked why she was rushing me. She said Iâm not rushing you. I said yes you are youâve followed me inside and youâre questioning me instead of leaving me alone. I again reiterated that I was well aware of closing time. I felt harassed. Needless to say I stormed out without anything and spent my money elsewhere as I will from now on,...
Read moreI love Aldi for their prices, variety of products and customer service. Unfortunately, I didnât have a good experience (St.Ann) my usual store is Bridgeton. I could not find a quarter even if my life depended on it. Thatâs my fault for not having cash with me. I apologized to the cashier (Patricia) because everything was in the bags. I explained to her the reason why. She told me âeverything needs to be out of the bags,â( I already had placed some of the products out, but I was struggling). I asked her to please charge me for the cart and she refused. She said âI canât give it to you, I need it!â( 4-5 empty carts on the floor). I respect that! My question is, would she have done this to an elderly customer? I hope not, I hope her judgment would have been different. ( I didnât want it for free, I would have brought it back and said Thank you). To the young boy behind me, who clearly heard everything and continued to pay. Thank you for coming back with a cart, I was a mess. Your parents have clearly raised a wonderful young man.
I always feel guilty shopping here. my father worked at SkyLark Lanes when I was born until I was around 8 years old.
I felt bad the first time when I walked in, but it changed quickly. The store, bathrooms and lot is well-kept. I can look for things wrong and have problems finding them. The staff is friendly, polite, kind, understanding, and professional. They have the best clearance of any Aldi around. Lines rarely get overly long. They call people to help quickly.
I've changed my guilt to telling bored kids about the bowling alley that used to be here. It helps to pass on a wonderful forgotten place. When the young ones learn that something so neat was here, they start looking around to imagine it. It's something special. I don't ever think I've mentioned that it's not the same building, it would take...
