I really was beginning to like this store, it's always clean, reasonable prices and conveniently located. Today, I stopped in after already shopping at two other stores in the area, I was looking for a specific product that the Meijer website stated they had in stock. After checking the aisle that was shown online, the product was not there. I found an employee stocking and asked if he could check if they had this product. He nicely instructed me that he was a vendor and that an actual store employee would be best able to assist me. I walked a few more aisles looking for an employee and filling my cart. I happened upon another employee and asked the same question, this time, I was instructed to go to the front of the store and ask customer service. I walked all the way to the front of the store from the back corner of grocery to the service desk to ask if they had this product. I explained that their website said they did, but the shelf it was supposed to be on had a different product but the correct tag for the item I was looking for. They asked for the product info, I provided a picture of the shelf tag and was told that if it wasn't on the shelf, they probably didn't have it. I asked if they could look it up because the website shows it in stock. They just repeated they if it wasn't on the shelf, it probably wasn't available. I was pretty irritated at the general laziness of the employees at this point, so I left my cart with groceries there. I went across the street to Jewel to spend my money. Still being pretty irritated by the lack of service from the customer service desk I called to speak to a manager. After instructing the automated system that I'd like to speak to management, I sat on hold and was answered by a woman I asked are you a manager, Iwas told no, so I again asked to speak to a manager. I waited again on hold until again I was answer by someone. I asked are you a manager, I was answered, yes. I explained what had happened and was answered with an unsympathetic "I will address this issue"... I explained my dissatisfaction with him and his staff and concluded the call. As the old saying goes, a fish rots from the head. It seems everyone is disinterested in helping a customer. I understand this is not the most grave injustice to ever happen and may even seem petty, but the astounding lack of customer service is very hard to...
Read moreShopping here has been absolutely been awesome. But one thing I will warn those coming to shop here, some of the ladies who work front end and customer service, are complete snobs, absolute liars, and act like they hate their jobs.
It all started on Thanksgiving morning. My partner and I went to self checkout. Normally the workers in self check out will scan large or heavy things for you, well I had a TV to buy and wave this lady who looked like she was in her 40s with a short haircut over to scan the TV. She scans the TV and says "Uhm, just so you know you can't pay for TV's here, but I guess it's okay I'll allow it this time." My partner and I looked at each other in disgust with her attitude, but just continue to ring out.
A few hours later I noticed I was missing a Fire stick for the TV. I go to customer service to ask if it was found at checkout. They go to the same lady who scanned the TV for us and asked if she found the fire stick, and she says, "Um I saw her put it in her bag" when it's obviously missing from my bag, and I knew she wasn't even paying attention because I saw her. Her comment made it seem like I was trying to get an extra fire stick out of it when I am not even like that. The lady helping me (who looked a little older) in customer service brings me back to the counter to play on her computer. Then looks at me saying "um do you mind stepping to the side? There's a customer behind you." This honestly made me feel like my problem was not important. Then someone behind the counter said "OH is this yours?" And was holding the fire stick. I said YES!!! She said, "it was found laying by one of the self service registers".
The only kind worker in self check out is the man with long hair with a vest and a cowboy hat. I absolutely adore his kindness and service.
BE WEARY OF THOSE SELF...
Read moreSelf checkout employees and customers service elder ladies are really rude. No need to make unnecessary nasty comments to people doing online shopping for others. First time was a lady at customer service and I asked for a price of gift bag that didn’t have price tag on it then she scanned on the checkout machine and told me the price and then told me that “it’s your job not mine”? Like for real? How was I supposed to know if I was allowed to go there just to scan to check it. I just wanted to know the price did not mean to use “free service” that you supposed to provide. Today I had a full cart of shoppings then scanned the barcode to process the order, the other lady at checkout wanted to just look through my phone to check items. I was smiling as this is a full cart and don’t know how she can do it without any intention to decline . This lady quickly swiped my phone without even reading and then said “if you don’t want us to check, don’t shop here” I was confused as I never refused and she did not actually checking at all just did quickly swipes, I think because she’s annoyed the fact she had to come over to give a pass to prepaid. I have done many shopping orders, only had bad experience at this meijer and jewel across street and all other stores employee are really nice especially Targets...
