Many good features, but surprisingly... ...While the large, well-appointed room was lovely and the staff was very nice, the food was decidedly mediocre. We ordered three brunch items: the blueberry pancakes, the ozark mushroom omelette, and the brisket hash. The blueberry pancakes were the best at "pretty good" - crispy ends, covered in lemon curd, no need for syrup. While St. Louis knows and loves its Ozark mushrooms, the omelette somehow lacked taste. Even with goat cheese & caramelized onions it didn't have a lot of flavor (I don't typically add salt to food but had to in this case) and the texture was on the rubbery side. It came with a "fresh salad" that had both the look and taste of Dole bagged salad: a little bland and sad. We let our server know this. She was attentive and offered to replace it with another side, but at that point we weren't interested in more of this food because, lastly, the hash. St. Louis knows brisket, which is why the tough cubed chunks of meat and very well-cooked squash were a bit of a surprise. Slow-cooked or well-bbqed brisket doesn't cut into cubes that way or taste that way. The coffee was good and our fellow customers seemed very pleased with the bottomless mimosas and bloody marys.

The cleanest thing that came out of that kitchen was the 3 day old newspaper my soggy fish and chips were served on. Sat across from the kitchen, watched the guy cooking my fries and fish remove his hat, scratch his hair and then pick up a hand full of fries for the fryer. I watched him drop a pair of tongs on the floor and then use them to pick up my fish and chips. Call me a germaphobe, but watching everyone in the kitchen touching their hair, rubbing their beard, using their cell phones, rubbing their nose, all without gloves and then handling food without washing their hands is disgusting. All of this aside, I tried to give the food a chance. The fries were undercooked, and the batter on the fish was too thick, still raw on the inside as can be seen in the picture I attached. The wine selection is dreadful. There was an off-putting fishy smell I noticed as soon as I walked past the bar. If not for a great waitress I would not feel comfortable giving even 1 star.

The dining experience was first class. The environment is visually beautiful with an old world elegance styled with modern lighting and decor that instantly makes you excited for what's to come next. Our wait staff were excellent, fun, and knowledgable about the dishes. Our partners chose Boundary after the ladies lost a bet at Top Golf, but honestly I feel like we won too! The food was presented beautifully and served at the appropriate temp. We are smitten with this place and highly recommend it to anyone who longs for a true "dining experience"!

Based on our, admittedly, only one time here, I can't help but feel like this place is kind of overrated. The service was good. The decor is great. The food was a series of mistakes. We only ordered two shared plates and that was enough. I was so disappointed, that we just didn't feel like trying anything else. First, I feel like they kind of overdo it on the flavor palette. One dish was the pork ribs. Korean flavors, hell yeah! Actually, meh. First, they weren't short ribs. That's okay, but it does make a difference. (Regarding the "short" part, BTW, please, if you're going to serve 8" ribs, don't bring us 4" bread plates.) I have no idea where the gochujang was. If it was cooked in, you couldn't taste it. The picked radish was decent, but the pickled carrots were over the top. Local figs were substituted with... apple slices. Um. They were pickled a little too. But it was really just a pile of apple slices with black pepper cracked on top. Our other shared plate was the house sausage. The sausage itself was pretty good and the mustard was too, but again, both were so over the top with the flavor that it was too much. And anyone that knows me knows I loved tons of flavor. So all of this flavor should have been tempered by the potatoes, right? Well maybe, if they had been fully cooked. Our server took the first try back and replaced it, but the potatoes were still undercooked. All the kitchen had to do was stick a fork in them to tell. Apparently they decided they didn't need to do that. I ate the sausage and left all the potatoes. I was so excited to try this place, and SO very disappointed. I don't know that I could be talked into going back. Maybe, but I might just go downstairs to...

Its really hard to give them a 3 but there are a few reasons. We've been few times just the 2 of us, but also large groups. This is the 1st time I have to make a not so good review. I would have done it in person but no one was around when we left. We went Sunday for February Birthday's in the family.

Before I made the reservations I called and asked if they can accommodate a vegan. They said "sure, we have a few things." .....2 hours before our reservations the hostess calls and says "i was told to call you and tell you we only have fruit & muffins" for vegan..... guess what!!! They did make a vegan hash for my step daughter that was good and no issues. So why do call and make the hostess do that? Also When I called and made the reservations for 130 for Sunday brunch they had no problem, when she called about the above they also said the kitchen closes at 2 and would be best for us to out our order in as soon as we got there. Well, guess what again, the waitress didn't get our order in till almost 2. With that being said our waitress was really nice but there was a food mix up on a few plates, easily corrected but still.

I did apologize to the hostess as I was very upset and frustrated with the phone call 2 hours before. When it wasn't her fault, I'd like to know why the manager or whoever asked her to call and make a big deal out of something to the customer 2 hours before a large party. It really made us feel like we weren't welcome and we were a bother. I'm sure we will be here again but NOT with a group with a few hundred ...

I drove down to the Boind’ry last night ( June 10, 2022 ) for drinks and dinner and a great time because it’s not only an after work businessman v bar but a mix of wealthy and not so wealthy clientele and sadly it was closed with 4 or 5 guys sitting in the bar talking who I am assuming we’re the owners. Come on guys do NOT shut Boundry down forever because I can tell you better that anyone what made your restaurant / bar the “it spot” for so many years and standing room only most nights in the bar….it was the super cool bartenders like Bruce doing magic tricks and all the other cool bartenders and attractive wait staff that poured great drinks and bartenders were all very entertaining! A bartender can either make or break a bar environment! Any problems of lost customers can be directly attributed to losing colorful charismatic bartenders so hire some great bartenders and open again and word will spread like wildfire and the line of crowds will be down the block again waiting to get in! Some restaurants have free hors d’oeuvres or shrimp or taco bar but none of that matters! What does matter is your bartenders! Years ago at TGI Friday on Ellison Place they had the best bartenders in town doing juggling tricks with bottles the bartenders nickname was Psycho! Lol Wonderful memories … same for Boundry! So stop obsessing over the menu and get the best bartenders and friendliest and funny and attractive bartenders possible and the Biundry will be the now “it spot” again for...
