⸻ I’ve lived in Clayton all my adult life and had never ordered from this place before. On Easter Sunday, there weren’t many dining options available, so I decided to give it a try and ordered a few items. The Mongolian beef was more like a soup, with an odd greenish tint meat and the meat tasted like it had been microwaved. The noodles were completely flavorless and also seemed to have been microwaved. By the time I drove home and opened the food—about half an hour later—it was still burning hot, which confirmed my suspicion.microwave I was surprised to see the cooks, who appeared to be Mexican, using the microwave for nearly every dish in restaurant . It’s disappointing to see even some Asian restaurants relying so heavily on the microwave. I was genuinely shocked.

I ordered delivery off their website. It said it would be delivered at 7pm, at 7:15 I called to check on it since it still had not arrived and was rudely told they “don’t do delivery” but I don’t know how that is possible since I ordered it delivery directly from their website. When I told them I had a receipt they said they had no record of my order and said to stop calling and then hung up on me. Absolutely horrible customer service.

chinese express is a no-frills spot for some good, greasy chinese food. we ordered the shrimp fried rice and beef egg foo yong. the portions were pretty generous given the price, and tasted very good too. the egg foo yong was well cooked and went superbly with the gravy and rice. the counter staff were polite and well spoken. i would order ahead so you can conveniently pick up your order when you arrive, as opposed to having to wait.

I was a first-time customer, and I will never return. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and it would be bad so I ordered the easiest thing to make, plain fried rice. Simple, right? Nope!

I waited 10 minutes, opened my rice box, and smelled old oil. Right then, I knew it wasn't going to be good, but I tried it anyway. The rice tasted like it smelled, OLD. To top it off, there was old over cooked rice, nearly burned, mixed with what was supposed to be fresh rice. However, none of it was fresh. I even tried to put hot pepper on it to make it better, no luck.

Usually, when I have a bad food experience, I don't take the time to even complain. I just throw it away and keep it moving, but this was so bad. I turned the cat around and took it back to them.

It was late, and I was tired, as I have been tensing to my father in the hospital down the street and not in the mood to have conflict. So I returned the rice and advised the young lady behind the camera of my experience.

I told her I didn't want them to make it again nor my money back, not that I like wasting money but it was a very hard day and I didn'thave the strengthto argue if I requesteda refund and they refused. At this point, I would think she would insist on giving me a refund, and she didn't. Although she was nice, she was obviously inexperienced in customer dissatisfaction.

I would not recommend Chinese Express. In my opinion, they are taking advantage of their location, close to Forest Park, down the street from the hospital, across the street from a hotel, etc.

A note for every foodie out there, if you walk in a place that serves cooked food and you can see the kitchen on the other side of the counter but can't smell food when you walk in the door, turn around and find somewhere else to go. The food...

So I ordered online chicken wing combo plate with (FRIED) rice while I was sitting on the lot outside. Went inside a little too early because my food wasn't ready which was ok cause I'm thinking nice and hot food, don't mind the wait. Waited about 5 min get my food go to my car on the lot to eat my food, because I'm hiungry, and the rice is not hot. I called inside to ask them how is it not hot and I just ordered it? They tell me the rice is pre-made sitting inside a cooker so no way it is cold. Um excuse me I ORDERED FRIED RICE SO WHY IS IT SITTING INSIDE A COOKER AND NOT BEING FRIED IN A WOK? HE BASICALLY INSINUATED THAT I WAS LYING AND I TAKE OFFENSE TO THAT BECAUSE I HAVE NO REASON TO, NOT EVEN TRYING TO BRING IT BACK INSIDE BECAUSE TIME WOULDN'T PERMIT ME TO, JUST WANTED TO LET THEM KNOW ALSO THE WINGS TASTE AS IF THEY HAD BEEN SITTING, PRE MADE ALSO AND I DONT WANT NO LUKE WARM FOOD! FOR THIS EXPERIEMCE AND THE INSULT, I GIVE A LOW RATING. WON'T BE...

A friend insisted on us getting lunch to go, as they are a regular. She treated me to veggie fried rice which was hot, but bland, had to use additional sauces to help flavor. The establishment was clean, condiments available for your choosing. HOWEVER, upon entering I spoke a hello to the young fella with glasses behind counter, and he just stared at me blank without uttering a word or a return greeting back. He just waited stoned face until the friend spoke to order. I was going to leave, but my friend said he's just like that.... Nope that's poor customer service and blatant disrespect. I noticed he had done it previously when I took her there. They consistently take our money but disrespect our presence. I know by me not going back won't hurt their pocket, but best believe I will let it be known to the people I know, not the spend their money in this particular establishment. Nor will I not be back to drop my friend off or...
