I have lived in Dorchester at Forest Park for 28 months. While this building looks outstanding among all other buildings in the area, it is not merely as good as it seems in the first sight. First, the building is old and not well maintained in many ways. For example, the elevators are old, very slow, and making lots of noise for the units rights besides the elevators. Second, the tube beneath the kitchen and bathrooms are very old too, sometimes making dirty kitchen water coming out of the bath tubs of next door units. I have personally experienced this awful experience myself. In addition, the staff has very high turn over rate, making many staff unfamiliar with the usual operation of the building, very unhappy experience here. Moreover, the building does not have enough outdoor parking space so most likely you need to pay for the Valet service. While this is no big deal, the Valet service quality is not good at all. I have once waited for my car for over 30 minutes with the parking staff shouting at me. After paying over 30,000 dollars of rent here, when I was moving out in the end, the staff member does't treat me like someone who has contributed to their sales. Instead, office staff treats me as if I have never done them any business at all, wanting me to be out of sight ASAP. If you are attracted by the cool look or the view of this building, I would seriously suggest you to think twice because after you move in you will find a lot of undiscovered issues that will drive you crazy. At that time, you will not have the mood to pay attention to the view. I regret living in this...
Read moreUpdate: I wish I could give negative reviews. Heat is down again. Right now is 4:43 am, 2/12/2018. I woke up bc it’s freezing. Temperature outside is 16 degrees. Basically, the heat system will be down whenever it’s like really cold outside. Heat was down in December, down at least once in January, down again in February. How wonderful that they got it “fixed already”!
I can’t believe I’m writing a review at this late time on New Year’s day. I can’t fall asleep bc I’m frozen bc there is no heat. The temperature is negative outside. I kept calling the company. They said they already sent someone to work on it. I checked an hour ago: no one was here. And I just checked: there’s still no heat. Now no one in the company is answering the phone. I know it’s new year’s day and you want to celebrate. But you should at least make sure that your property is habitable. The heating problem has been on for more than 3 Days. Don’t rent with Mac Properties, not just bc of the heating problem, but also bc the staff in this building think they are superior to you, especially when you are...
Read moreDo not live here!! Far too expensive for the quality. I lived here for two years and the heat never works. They frequently turn off the water with no notice. The laundry room is disgusting. They never own up to their mistakes and continue to treat the residents as just a number. Right after I renewed my lease for the second year, it became student housing for Wash U. A nightmare for someone who chose this place knowing the typical resident was older than a college aged person. This quiet atmosphere was great the first year and was important for my online job. However, they allowed almost 200 students to move in within a week and never contacted the residents. The staff is rude and the maintenance people are disrespectful. One of the maintenance women called my husband a “son of a b” after he used the lobby bathroom, when she had just finished cleaning it. There are too many more things that happened over two...
