Honestly used to love it here. The last 3 times I’ve come, it’s alwaaaays something. Either they’re out of everything by a certain point in the day, closed when they’re online hours say open, and today- we get there and the RUDE girl working hits us with “yeah you can only order bowls or sandwiches on the mains menu” when we seemed confused she goes “yeah we’re between open and closing shifts so just transitioning menus” like are you kidding me? My mom and I both are allergic to gluten, drove all the way from Illinois, and you can’t just make a freaking bowl? Like how is that everyone else’s problem that you’re transitioning menus, what does that even mean? Just seems like a lazy excuse to have a relaxed few hours. Everyone around us had bowls. And because we got there RIGHT at 2 y’all can’t just make a customer happy ? We ended up eating the classic burger (nothing classic about it). Super spicy, basically Mexican food smashed into a patty. Then the people around us just having 0 self awareness. Girl to our left blowing snot rockets into her tissue— can’t even be mad at her. We watched 5 people including US try to to use the bathroom, one of which was out of order and the other vacant (nobody came out for the hour we were here). Girl to our right is just talking on FaceTime with her volume all the way up like GIRL call them we don’t need to hear your entire conversation. Whole vibe seemed VERY out of touch. And y’all do not have to speak like kardashians for us to enjoy the environment Jesus. 0/10 experience, 2/10 food because the donut was great. The rest of the food was bogus. Be sure to add to your restaurant website “workers will refuse to serve half the menu if you...
Read moreMy wife and I had this place on our “places to try” list for quite some time before finally getting there the other day.
Highly disappointing. I had a side salad and the ramen & my wife had the vegan mac n cheese. We each had a green tea. The bill was over $50.
I suppose the high point of the meal was the salad - although there was absolutely nothing special about it. My Ramen was a small bowl of noodles with a few shreds of green onion & purple cabbage tossed in. It cost $18. The noodles tasted strange and the broth was not much better.
My wife’s mac n cheese was disappointing as well - costing nearly the same as the Ramen. The noodles were mushy and what we suspect was the nutritional yeast was overdone and what we suspect was nutritional yeast made the dish taste bitter (we regularly use nutritional yeast at home so we are familiar with it).
On top of all that, had you blindfolded us, we would have thought the green tea was water. That’s how diluted it was.
As it was the first (and now last) time we have eaten there, not sure if it was just a bad day or the food quality has gone down hill because honestly, the meal we had made it hard to understand the great reviews.
Look, if you’re going to charge as much as you do for your food, at least it should be of high quality and properly prepared.
Not to pile on, but in addition to the subpar food, the waitress never once asked how our meal was or asked if we’d like more tea. Note that the place was nearly empty so it wasn’t like they were slammed.
I also should say that I hardly ever write bad reviews, but considering what we paid (again, over $50), I felt compelled to...
Read moreUnfortunately, my favorite vegan restaurant in the St. Louis area has become less than what it was even a month ago. The same sandwiches I order every time I go to Seedz were now quite different: they were not of the same quality, they did not taste close to what they had been previously, and I was very disappointed. This is especially so for the vegan Reuben - the sauerkraut was completely different and tasted more like a sweet topping. The tomatoes overtook the taste of the Reuben. I’m not sure I would call it a vegan Reuben now. The “burger” was different as well. My spouse is not a vegan but he likes Seedz’s “burger.” However, now it was flavorless and the toppings were not fresh. If Seedz can’t maintain consistency, we just can’t go back. And that really breaks my heart. Update in response to Seedz response: the high standards you mentioned were not maintained in the food we ordered. There is no reason to go back to Seedz if the food quality and recipe have changed. Why order what was not up to par. Of all items on the menu, those sandwiches were the ones that we consistently purchased. I’m sorry. I hope this review will be considered constructive criticism and not an attack on your business. Customers come back most often for what they like. If it changes or isn’t good, there is not reason to return. With...
