My boyfriend and I are visiting St. Louis and were craving a sweet treat! I like super sweet creamy ice cream and he likes sorbets more. We found Serendipity online and saw it has a great selection of both. We were welcomed by the sweetest girl who was so helpful and patient while my boyfriend and i were clearly struggling to choose what to get. Customer service was a 11/10 and the quality of the ice cream was just as good! I went with a kids scoop of salted caramel swirl in a sugar cone while my boyfriend got a small dish of lemon sorbet. The salted caramel flavor was delicious!! The salt balances out the sweetness of the caramel so well! As for the lemon sorbet- my boyfriend said, and I quote, “It was tart and if you like lemon it’s just perfect.” We will definitely be returning to this shop if we happen to be in St. Louis again.

I wanted a homemade brownie and a scoop of ice-cream and they made it into a Sundae 🍨 😍 omg it was delicious 😋 I asked for salt to sprinkle on top and this is my now go to sweet treat!

I believe in magic. I believe in magic, and God, and the voice of the wind. The experience I had inside this Serendipity Homemade Ice Cream shop/parlor/place was one of unmistakable, truly remarkable joy everlasting. The people that work here: kind, stately, generous in recommendation, discerning of personal taste. Quick, witty, a friendly ease about them. Paired two flavors together (pictured) excellent recommendation. Slammed. Will be trying again soon. Thank you also for the pup cup, thank you for bringing it to my sweet, gluttonous little animal. He appreciates it, so do I. What a wonderful place with wonderful people, been here several times, will come again. Always been great 👍

I am a serious ice cream fanatic and I especially love homemade ice cream!! So when I saw Serendipity Homemade Ice Cream makes their own ice cream, I knew we had to try it on our last night in St. Louis!! First, it is in a cool up-and-coming type neighborhood called "The Grove". As soon as we walked in the door, we were warmly greeted by the staff. The next thing I noticed was a large unity flag to welcome LGBTQIA+ in the dining room, as well as a non-binary bathroom. This made me very happy since our son, and several family and friends, are LGBTQIA+. Next, the selection of ice cream flavors was impressive!! I also quickly noted they had the usual sundaes, scoops with a variety of cone choices, shakes and malts, with a variety of syrups and toppings. But then I noticed the selections and creations were far from usual!! I have outlined it as follows:

  1. Homemade Ice Cream!! There are so many flavors, it is super hard to make a choice!! So I recommend planning to go several times!! I know I will be going there any time we are in, or passing through St. Louis (I'm a Travel RN, so we travel all over the country).
  2. Ice cream sandwiches: You can make your own ice cream sandwich with your choice of ice cream and your choice of fresh cookies!!! What?!?
  3. Sundaes: They have their own signature sundaes. I tried a sample of their ice cream that had those St. Louis Hot Chips (can't remember the name) and Chocolate in a vanilla base. I almost got that flavor, but the Cookie Monster ice cream had me mesmerized with it's pleasing blue base and a variety of cookie dough and cookie pieces throughout. I opted to go with a double scoop sundae of Cookie Monster ice cream and Hot Fudge!! I thought it was amazing!! I realize it is not the flavor for everyone. They said it is super popular among the kids. But hey, who doesn't want to be young at heart sometimes, or in my case, a lot of the time!! Lol!!
  4. Shakes and Malts: There are so many choices, toppings, and syrups to choose from!! Also, they have a whole menu of SPIRITED shakes and Beer Floats!! My husband loves vanilla, and vanilla malts, so that is what he opted for. I know it sounds plain, with so many choices!! But, he said he can't remember having a better vanilla malt. I don't care for plain vanilla, but tried a swig of his malt, and found it to have a really rich depth of flavor for plain vanilla!!
  5. Honorable Mentions: They have novelties such as Dip Stix and Bon Bons!! They also have pre-packaged pints to grab and go. They have Proffertjes, which are described as tiny Dutch Pancakes (I think I'm going to try those next time, and add a scoop!!). Also, while we were there, they were experimenting with a homemade, ice cream and waffle version of famous St. Louis "toasted ravioli" novelty they plan to offer, for a limited time.
  6. They have several Gluten Free options that looked really tasty, even if you're not on a GF diet!!
  7. Literally they have something for everyone, in a fun, inclusive atmosphere!! Give Serendipity a try. I promise you won't be sorry!! I can't wait to pass through St....

Alrightttttt this the triple double bad review....now listen, I feel bad. Truly, I do but I mean dangggg that was a ROUGHHH experience. This was clearly the first day for the girl that helped us so like, free pass to her BUT lemme hit you with that again BUT even the girl training her was a littleeeeee unsure on how to make the cookie ice cream sandwich...she told the girl helping us she didn't exactlyyyy know what to do. Anyways, let's break it down...we walk in and nice girl starts helping us, immediately after we order you can tell she's not exactly sure what to do..bless her, she tried to figure it out and with it being busy didn't exactly have support soooo we wait a solid, sturdy dirty 20 minutes before we get our two cookies sandwiches.(it was busy at first but 10 minutes in we were the only customers) I mean that's cool, it happens but like gah damn....now they just gave us the cookies without paying and we tried to pay real hard REALLYYY HARD but even then it took another hefty 5 minutes before we could get help at the register to pay....it's cool though because we've got some freaking ice cream cookie sandwiches waiting for us right?? WELLLLL it was more like two cookies with some ice cream sauce (came out this way, wasn't from the waiting...crazy I know) one cookie was soft the other was like a bricked up Ron Jeremy (Johnny Sins for you uncultured folk)...that thang was SOLID...idkkk mannnnn I feel bad, hopefullyyyyy this was a fluke but again GAHHHH DANGGGG. It's a cool shop though, good concept. Giver a whirl, maybe it'll be an interesting night of people watching while you wait for ol Ron's cookies OR you might get some good ice cream 50/50...

Very welcoming and greeted me as soon as I walked in. So I couldn't decide and they were nice enough to let me sample many flavors. So under the pistachio it said add $2.50. This is a vegan flavor so all vegan flavors are more. Now a lafy pointed out this to me, but I was getting the trio. So I didn't think it would still be $2.50. I was charged $2.50 for that tiny scoop. Well I decided to buy a shirt and I asked them. You still charge the full price of $2.50 for the tiny scoop? They said yes, then a lady who worked there said no, not for the trio. She asked if I already paid and I had so she offered me another scoop of whatever. I did have Sicilian Pistachio, gold coast chocolate, and cookie Carmel love. ALL so good!!! Well I sampled the cantaloupe sorbet and it was amazing! So when the lady offered me an extra scoop, I picked that one. She gave me more than the tiny scoop. Some of the best customer service ever! I will come back if I'm in the area! Please try this homemade in house ice cream shop. Not 1 scoop did I try that I said nah. I tried 5 flavors. Delicious! This was better that the train station shop and Clementine's! The price are very reasonable as well. If you don't...
