I am a serious ice cream fanatic and I especially love homemade ice cream!! So when I saw Serendipity Homemade Ice Cream makes their own ice cream, I knew we had to try it on our last night in St. Louis!! First, it is in a cool up-and-coming type neighborhood called "The Grove". As soon as we walked in the door, we were warmly greeted by the staff. The next thing I noticed was a large unity flag to welcome LGBTQIA+ in the dining room, as well as a non-binary bathroom. This made me very happy since our son, and several family and friends, are LGBTQIA+. Next, the selection of ice cream flavors was impressive!! I also quickly noted they had the usual sundaes, scoops with a variety of cone choices, shakes and malts, with a variety of syrups and toppings. But then I noticed the selections and creations were far from usual!! I have outlined it as follows:
Alrightttttt this the triple double bad review....now listen, I feel bad. Truly, I do but I mean dangggg that was a ROUGHHH experience. This was clearly the first day for the girl that helped us so like, free pass to her BUT lemme hit you with that again BUT even the girl training her was a littleeeeee unsure on how to make the cookie ice cream sandwich...she told the girl helping us she didn't exactlyyyy know what to do. Anyways, let's break it down...we walk in and nice girl starts helping us, immediately after we order you can tell she's not exactly sure what to do..bless her, she tried to figure it out and with it being busy didn't exactly have support soooo we wait a solid, sturdy dirty 20 minutes before we get our two cookies sandwiches.(it was busy at first but 10 minutes in we were the only customers) I mean that's cool, it happens but like gah damn....now they just gave us the cookies without paying and we tried to pay real hard REALLYYY HARD but even then it took another hefty 5 minutes before we could get help at the register to pay....it's cool though because we've got some freaking ice cream cookie sandwiches waiting for us right?? WELLLLL it was more like two cookies with some ice cream sauce (came out this way, wasn't from the waiting...crazy I know) one cookie was soft the other was like a bricked up Ron Jeremy (Johnny Sins for you uncultured folk)...that thang was SOLID...idkkk mannnnn I feel bad, hopefullyyyyy this was a fluke but again GAHHHH DANGGGG. It's a cool shop though, good concept. Giver a whirl, maybe it'll be an interesting night of people watching while you wait for ol Ron's cookies OR you might get some good ice cream 50/50...
Read moreVery welcoming and greeted me as soon as I walked in. So I couldn't decide and they were nice enough to let me sample many flavors. So under the pistachio it said add $2.50. This is a vegan flavor so all vegan flavors are more. Now a lafy pointed out this to me, but I was getting the trio. So I didn't think it would still be $2.50. I was charged $2.50 for that tiny scoop. Well I decided to buy a shirt and I asked them. You still charge the full price of $2.50 for the tiny scoop? They said yes, then a lady who worked there said no, not for the trio. She asked if I already paid and I had so she offered me another scoop of whatever. I did have Sicilian Pistachio, gold coast chocolate, and cookie Carmel love. ALL so good!!! Well I sampled the cantaloupe sorbet and it was amazing! So when the lady offered me an extra scoop, I picked that one. She gave me more than the tiny scoop. Some of the best customer service ever! I will come back if I'm in the area! Please try this homemade in house ice cream shop. Not 1 scoop did I try that I said nah. I tried 5 flavors. Delicious! This was better that the train station shop and Clementine's! The price are very reasonable as well. If you don't...
