Fantastic barbershop, Dave the owner gives a great cut, as well as Marco and Jarrod, who has great fade skills. Recommend making an appointment.

I wanted to write this in response to the obvious cry baby that wrote the review 2 weeks ago about showing up to the shop early on the morning of Saturday June 2nd before the shop was actually open. First off, Dave and the guys were not catering to and taking priority to a group of rich wealthy guys. Most of the guys that were in there are either still serving on active duty or were former soldiers in the U.S. Army, all of which have fought in either Iraq, Afghanistan, or both. They are normal, run of the mill, working guys who are very close friends of mine, some of which I actually served in combat with. Dave opened early to do the shaves and haircuts as a favor to me and the guys in the wedding party because one of them, a very close friend and former helicopter pilot, was marrying my cousin that afternoon. You really need to not judge and label people before you actually know whats going on. Sorry to you that Dave couldn't give you the exact haircut you wanted that day. If you have not already figured out, the shop has become very popular and Saturdays are the busiest day of the week for them. Dave, and or Warren (the former owner) have been cutting my hair since I was in highschool back when they worked at the shop on Hampton. I have never had bad service. Sure, I have shown up and Dave has been busy, and I have either had to come back later or wait around for a while until he has an opening. Call ahead and set up an appointment. Like I said, they have become very popular and are really busy. Dave is in high demand. Instead of calling them sell outs or poseurs you should be happy for them for doing so well, especially with the way our economy has been going down the drain. It's one of the few shops left that you can get a damn good haircut or real deal straight razor shave for a reasonable price. The shop has a great atmosphere, good music, there is always interesting conversation, and the barbers actually care about giving you a quality haircut and making sure it is what you want. They haven't changed or sold out, they are just getting a lot more business and notoriety. Good man, lose their number, don't go there anymore. Go somewhere else and compare it to what you were getting and I can pretty much bet you it won't match up and you won't get the same service you got from Dave, Tim, and the other guys! This is hands down the best barber shop in St. Louis, reasonable, great barbers, and just an overall great experience. Check it out, you will not be...

I hadn't planned on doing this but after reading the previous review I feel compelled to do so...I was one of the customers part of the "private wedding party". Let me preface by stating that I am a regular customer of Tim and Daves, at least once a month for the last 4 years. I live two blocks from the shop and am not a millionaire. The morning in question saw several customers arrive early and most stayed. Another regular customer and I contacted Dave weeks in advance in order to schedule haircuts and shaves for those in the wedding that wanted them. Nothing more than normalk prices and customary tips were exchanged. Dave did not charge any one of us anything other than advertised prices. This isnt the first time Tim and Dave have accomodated a wedding party, probably not the last.

Tim and Dave are always extremely cordial to me and every one around the shop. This is by far, the best barber shop in town. I am sorry the previous poster feels jaded, nut this is the best shop...

If you are a guy and still get your hair cut at a "salon," make the change already. I did about 5 years ago and couldn't be happier. The price is 1/2 what a salon charges and I'm always pleased with the results. All 4 barbers do a great job, but Megan is my go-to gal every 2-3 weeks. She really takes the time to be precise and make sure you are happy with the results.

The best day for walk-ins, in my experience, is Tuesday. They are pretty busy other days and it is best to set an appointment. I used to walk-in, but gave up on that a couple years ago. They do leave room in their schedules to do walk-ins, but I prefer to skip the wait. You can usually call between 9-10 and get an appointment that day, or at worst, call one day prior and you'll have plenty of times from which to choose.

Make the change...this is the place.

PS. They have great, sometimes abstract soundtracks playing in the background...
