Google Review for Louie 🍷🍽️ Name: Louie Address: 706 De Mun Ave, Clayton, MO 63105 My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - "Great"
Louie in Clayton is a symphony of culinary excellence and relaxed elegance. 🌟
Rating Reflection: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Louie offers a rare blend of high-quality food and wine, set in a comfortable and unpretentious atmosphere. It's a must-visit for a genuine fine-dining experience in St. Louis.
Ambiance and Decor: 🎨🔥 The restaurant features a mesmerizing pizza oven, a spectacle in its own right, nestled near the bar. The wine shelves above the bar are equally captivating. The decor is thoughtfully dim and romantic, with eclectic skulls and plates that add a unique flair without feeling out of place.
Service That Impresses: 🙋♂️💬 From Raquelle, our hostess, to Melanie, our waitress, the service was attentive but never intrusive. It's what you'd expect from a place of Louie's caliber – professional yet down-to-earth, focused on delivering the best possible dining experience.
A Culinary Journey: 🍽️🐟🍪 Here's a pro-tip: Save room for dessert. The starters, like the cheesy Brussels Sprouts, set the stage, but the specials like the perfectly cooked halibut over a quinoa salad with squash are the showstoppers. The dessert – a set of six cookies in three varieties (lemon rosemary shortbread, salted chocolate, and ginger-molasses), paired with an Americano – was the perfect endnote to a delightful culinary journey.
In Retrospect: 🤔 Louie is not just a restaurant; it's an experience that marries top-tier culinary art with a warm, welcoming ambiance. From start to finish, every aspect of the meal was thoughtfully curated.
Final Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - "Great" "Louie: Where Every Bite Is a Celebration, Every Moment a Memory."

Read moreI wish I could give this place more stars. We had a phenomenal experience here with our two young sons on Christmas Eve 2022. The service was exceptional, food was even better, and generally everyone involved went above and beyond.
We walked in at 5pm on Christmas Eve without a reservation (travel woes; we were in STL for dinner unexpectedly) with our 6 and 3 year old sons. Although they had a full book of reservations for the night, they immediately sat us at the bar with a great view of the pizza oven, which our 3 year old loved. One of the managers commented on our son’s Andy Warhol coloring book and generally established a great rapport with our kiddos. We got the margherita pizza, broccolini pizza, and the roasted eggplant dip, and it was all unbelievably delicious - some of the best pizza my husband and I ever remember having. Even though we had little kids in tow the evening was really lovely, calm, and refined, and the staff were just wonderful with them. My 3 year old made an offhand comment about how he wished there was ham and pineapple pizza on the menu, and the pizzaiolo behind the bar quickly served up a little off-menu dish of pineapple chunks that he had for himself back there! What’s more, it was incredibly reasonable price-wise - two alcoholic drinks, two pizzas, and a small plate plus a 20% tip all came below $100.
We were so grateful to find such wonderful food and service at the last minute on such a busy and important night. If we are ever back in St Louis we will be back. Everyone...

Jokes aside, this restaurant is heavenly in every single aspect possible. I have been here 3 times and never have been disappointed (or even simply satisfied). Every time, Louie goes above and beyond.
The quality of the food is phenomenal. I sadly have poor memory so I cannot recall everything I have tried there, but I know I have had the pork chop and ravioli which made me cry out of pure happiness. Now, I have never been a fan of ravioli, but when I tried Louie's sweet potato ravioli, I was at a loss of words. Never have I tried something so smooth and delicate, I was certain it would taste super sweet and mushy like most sweet potato foods; however, Louie's raviolis were driven to perfection. There was no one over-powering flavour. Everything, from the sauce, to the almonds, to the ravioli itself were well balanced and played off each other nicely (I felt like Remy from that one scene in Ratatouille where he eats the strawberry and cheese at the same time).
Cocktails and wines are superb. Jordan always suggests the best wines/drinks, I have full faith in anything he offers.
Atmosphere wise, I could spend the whole night there. It's dark (in a good way) and intimate allowing for you and whoever you are with for an amazing evening. Not too loud, nor too quiet. Louie really does everything to make the restaurant feel welcoming.
I will...
