Ethan Allen — Local services in Stamford

Stamford Ct store is horrible. I have shopped before and didn't like my particular salesperson but did like the quality. The manager At the time had told me who would be a good match for me next time I needed furniture but I had forgotten the name. When I went in to give them another chance I was basically so turned off by the receptionist I left. Never made it past her. I explained I would like a salesperson and I asked her the names of who was available thinking I would recognize the name the manager had told me. I had also told the receptionist that I had worked with someone before that I did not like last time. She looked annoyed and said do you remember who it was? I told her the name. She said She wouldn't give me that person but I couldn't pick who worked with me. It's which salesperson that's next. I said what do you mean I can't pick? The manager had told me of who would be a better match for me. She was irritated and rude. Never heard of not getting to pick your salesperson. She said who told you that? I said Beth. She said well she's not a manager! I mean who cares whether she's a manager she's a representative of the store and why be combative with a customer! I said screw it why would I give these people my money again if the first impression walking in the door is negative?! What a shame they spend so much money on rent only to have their receptionist turn customers off. I have worked with two different design consultants at Ethan Allen at two different points in time. In both cases I have found them to be thoroughly knowledgeable about their products and services, very professional, extremely helpful in selecting furniture, fabrics, accessorizing and identifying furniture, designs and fabrics that work well together. They've been excellent on follow through and communication (regarding completing the transaction, delivery and options for protecting furniture).
