Susan did an incredible job catering my big Brooklyn wedding (160 guests). Throughout the entire planning process Susan was attentive, passionate, and I knew that she truly cared about providing us and our guests with exceptional food and service. Long story short - I'm not easy to please and I can't recommend Susan Kane Catering highly enough.

After an extensive search of NYC based caterers I was ready to give up on my dream of a bespoke Brooklyn wedding because nobody was able to work within my budget. Then I found Susan. After our tasting we knew we had found someone who was up to the challenge. She helped us create the perfect menu to accommodate a variety of food allergies and diet preferences, and was a wiz at finding creative ways to keep costs down without diminishing the elegant, bespoke tone we wanted for our event. When it came to rentals, Susan worked tirelessly to find us the best prices. My wedding was in a large "raw space" venue, meaning there was a separate prep space but no ovens or stoves, so not only did Susan have to coordinate all of my rentals for linens, bar glasses, dishes, utensils, etc., but she also had to plan and source all kitchen equipment needed for the evening.

Almost without exception, everyone I talked to during and after my wedding commented on how good the food was. Susan and her crew not only served delicious food, but they flawlessly kept the evening running smoothly. Her staff was very attentive and made sure our older, less mobile guests (like my 92 year old grandma) had everything they needed throughout the night. Susan also made sure me and my husband got to eat! While everyone else was enjoying passed appetizers and cocktails, we were taking photos. Susan put together a beautiful sampler of all the appetizers for us and our bridal party to enjoy in our dressing room while we finished photos and signed our marriage license.

I really loved my experience with Susan because she was willing to work closely with me in creating the perfect reception for our wedding. Our wedding was a bit different because the guests were comprised of people who were used to a very Korean-style wedding and culture as well as people who were used to a very American-style wedding and culture. Susan was open to changing her approach in order to suit the needs and style of our wedding, while also balancing her desire to make sure that the event was held to a high standard. I valued her feedback and input greatly because there were several decisions she helped us make that made the flow of the reception go smoothly. Also, when I met her staff on the day of the wedding I was so impressed at their professionalism, kindness, and warmth. They worked really hard to set up all the tables and centerpieces the way I envisioned, and they really impressed (and surprised) me with how beautifully they decorated the sweetheart table - especially since my friend had brought a lovely sign for decoration! They each made me feel that they wanted the best for us and our guests and it made our experience with Susan Kane Catering very memorable!

We were also very impressed with the quality of the food - Susan worked with us to make sure that we had delicious options for everyone. When we asked for a vegetarian option, she created an incredibly tasty (and popular) pasta dish! It was actually my favorite thing on the menu, as well as the rolls with butter. My husband's favorite dish was the NY style skirt steak! And the guests, both Korean and American, loved all the different dishes, which was something I had been worried about. Susan and her team exceeded all expectations! We hired her to cater breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks for several days. Her patience as we discussed and narrowed down options for catering needs of our company was exceptional. We had food allergies, diet-restrictive needs, and healthier options requisite that was a bit challenging. Susan didn’t even bat an eye and came up with some amazing options that worked for everyone. The food was phenomenal! Everything was fresh, delicious, and made with care. The flavors were perfect for fall weather, kept everyone satisfied while in all-day meetings, and no one felt “stuffed” or had “brain fog.” She and her team were flexible with the drop-off times during the week as things changed, remained in contact with me from beginning to end, and was so personable.
