If you're planning a white water raftng trip in the sun valley area, you MUST book through The River Company. The guides were friendly, easy going and professional. They provide an excellent and fun trip. To start they allow you to drink on the bus or leave alcohol on the bus for lunch time. Or if you're unprepared like my friends and I, you can purchase $3 IPAs from them and they will transport the drinks in a cooler to you for lunch! Our guide (Keira) also stopped and allowed passengers to jump into the water and off the "jumping rock." The River Company sets themselves apart from other rafting tours because they are the only ones who provide a "hot lunch" as opposed to a sandwich in plastic wrap. We stopped for lunch at a beautiful spot they lease on the side of the river, complete with picnic tables and potta-potties. For lunch they served; tea, lemonade, water, watermelon, gourmet chicken tacos with a spread of all homemade slaws, salads, and sides you could want. They even sang happy birthday to my friend and brought him out a chocolate cupcake and chocolate chip cookies for my whole group, completely unsolicited! These guys are awesome and truly care about providing a fun and...
Read moreWe arrived about 40 minutes earlier than our scheduled departure and were greeted as soon as we parked by a very nice young lady. We went inside the building where we changed our clothes and got fitted with our life jackets. As we waited for the rest of the people to arrive we sat in the comfy lawn chairs out front and chatted with some of the guides. Very friendly people that made you feel welcomed and excited for the adventure ahead. Soon after we packed unto the bus that would take us to our starting location. On the bus the crew made sure everyone was accounted for and informed us of some safety precautions (with some humor) we needed to be aware of. After we arrived, the rafts were unloaded, everybody went with their designated guide and pushed off into the river. I will save the rest for your experience...For us late in August the water was relatively low and the river was mellow with 2 short class 3 rapids. Earlier in the summer the water is higher and you can get into some more action. The lunch that was provided at break time was delicious with vegetarian options. Overall we had an amazing time, thanks to the knowledgeable and super friendly folks at The River Company! We...
Read moreWild adventure with top notch guides!! My husband and I brought our 8 year old daughter to Stanley for a nature-fueled adventure. The River Company did not disappoint! The entire experience was top tier. From the moment we parked our car we were greeted with energy and excitement. Our guide Annie was friendly and patiently answered all our questions. But the entire staff was terrific and it felt like we were a group of friends enjoying a day on the river.
We experienced rapids, calm spots, history and nature lessons, and there was even a spot you could jump off a rock into the river - which several guests and most of the staff took advantage of.
We booked the family lunch trip where riverside lunch was provided. Daria (I think that's the chef's name?) made the best chicken tacos with all the fixins. There was coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and fresh lemonade, and even some dessert! Just what we needed before embarking on the second leg of our trip.
They took some high quality photos of us on the river which were available for purchase afterward. They truly think of everything! So happy we booked with The...
