Me and my cousins visited the Star Ridleys to see if they had a few items we had been searching for. In the process we had picked up a single pair of chopsticks because we had bought Sushi from a near by Albertsons but they had none. We went to self-checkout and had bought several other items, including some soda and a fruit bowl. The entire time we were checking out there were two male staff members who were standing directly behind us and watched us over our shoulders. They never spoke a word and we were a little thrown off by there being multiple people watching over self checkout especially with such little space between us and them, but we thought nothing of it at the time. As soon as we were ready to leave one of the employees stopped us and had asked if we had boughten sushi because we had chopsticks on us. We explained that we had boughten Sushi at another store and they had been out of chopsticks. The older male kept stretching out the conversation longer than needed over us taking a single pair of chopstick and maintained a patronizing grin the entire time. We apologized and said weâd buy some sushi to go with the chopsticks next time. I am insanely disappointed with the tone and inappropriate attitude towards 4 teenage girls. Anyone of us couldâve needed chopsticks for a complete separate reason ex: disability or the other food we bought with the purchase. They were invading personal boundaries and gave us nothing but snarky attitude and being completely unprofessional in general. While trying to explain our previous purchase at the nearby Albertsons, the older male employee proceeded to discredit that establishment and seemingly make the point that âwe clearly bought sushi at the wrong place because Ridleyâs is so much better.â Overall their tone was completely unprofessional, condescending, and made us disappointed that this establishment would treat its customers in...
Read moreI will be honest this store is amazing but it does have some flaws. This was my first time visiting this location. I grew up shopping at Ridley's as a child with my grandmother. Back then it was just a small store without all the bells and whistles that are now featured in the two stores I've shopped at so far. So walking in you're met with a gorgeous store unlike most other supermarkets. The produce department is spectacular. You can find things here that you can only find at high end markets if you can find them at all. Their meat quality is top notch. They have a vast selection of frozen foods as well at shelf staples. It is very convenient to have Ace Hardware at each location saving time should you need things for your household projects. I don't live near any of markets but it is something that doesn't keep me from going to see what they might have. The main issue I have is that it seems to me that the pricing of their items is higher at this particular location. I could have visited at a bad time and they might have just not had a good week for sales but I am not sure. I just know it seemed to be a lot more than the Middleton store. I do wish that they were more like they were in the past where they were more of a bargain market where it was affordable to any budget. I do know that times have changed and they offer far more than they did in the 90's but I think they've lost some of their hometown, mom and pop store feel. Despite this I have to give them a 5 star review because they offer more than other store chains in the area and their employees are wonderful. I highly recommend coming to see what they have to offer. Every store has flaws but this one has far more good than bad and I'll continue to be a...
Read moreI used to love shopping at this location. The prices were great, and the atmosphere was friendly. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend Ridleyâs/Ace at this specific location.
During a recent visit, I asked an employee named Joli for help locating a specific item. Her response was extremely unprofessionalâshe had a noticeably rude attitude and was clearly unwilling to assist. As a customer, I expect courteous and helpful service, especially in a community-centered grocery store.
Even more concerning, I overheard deeply inappropriate and offensive remarks from her, including a racial slur directed toward Mexican customers. Behavior like this is unacceptable in any public space, especially one that serves a diverse community.
I am also alarmed by disturbing allegations Iâve heard from other customers regarding her behavior around children, which raises serious concerns about safety and conduct.
This type of behavior should never be tolerated in a business that serves the public. I will be reporting this incident to the Better Business Bureau. Itâs extremely disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed decline to this level, but no customer should have to tolerate disrespect or feel unsafe...
