I came in to the Starkville location for my brothers 15th birthday. My mother called at 1pm today and let them know that we were going to have 10-12 people for my brothers birthday between 6pm and 7pm, and asked if we could bring cake. The gentleman that answered told me that was fine and "absolutely you can bring cake."
We arrived at 6:30pm with 12 people. They looked shocked and hurried to get a table. (I was fine at that time. I know it is the busiest time of day.)
We sat at our table for an hour and a half before someone took our order. We waited almost another hour for our food to come out and the 4yr Olds French fries was the absolute last item to come to the table. And he was rudely told to wait repeatedly he is 4 and was very patient for 2 hrs !! .We got 1 refill of chips in the hour and a half, and never got a refill of salsa despite asking twice.
After receiving our food, we went ahead and sang to my brother and cut the cake. (We were told to wait 3x when we asked for drink refills and the French fries for my son , we knew better than to wait for a birthday celebration.) Right after we finished, they brought a hat and sang to a group at another table of adults that came in after we had been sitting for 2 hrs but my 15 year old brother sat in silence and we got half ass service all night . We then waited another 20min for our tickets.
At the register, we asked for a manager due to the poor service we received. We were met with a man that said "I know it's not an excuse, but we are busy." He then walked off. And gave us very dirty looks .I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant coming most Thursdays weekly. I have NEVER felt more ignored and like we didn't matter more than I have tonight. This is unacceptable and I guess from now on, we will spend our money at one of the many other options for Mexican food in Starkville. There was NO excuse for the poor service we received tonight, and my little brother absolutely noticed that the other birthday party got singing and a hat and the restaurant clapping for them, and we sat silent in the corner for his birthday. Disappointed doesn't even begin to describe our dining experience. A $300+ table, and the worst service ever.
This is my favorite Mexican in starkville and it truly breaks my heart to walk away from that due to the horrible service we...
Read moreHonestly, I really enjoy this place. My friends and I spends anywhere from $30 to $60 there per person weekly on lunch and dinner. So, I made a call in order and my boyfriend goes to pick it up and returns with missing portion of the order. I double checked each bag to make sure we hadn't looked over it. I make a call back to the restaurant to see can I recover my cheese dip. The young lady answers and I calmly states that I was missing the two small cups of cheese dip. Let me remind you that this dip cost nearly $4 a cup. The young lady puts me on hold comes back "oh the manager said that she personally put it in the bag herself". I say no it's not in here, I have bother orders but not cheese dip. She place me on hold again and I hear her say " SHE IS ARGUING UP AND DOWN THAT SHE DIDN'T GET HER CHEESE!!!!" If I had not spent near $10 with tax on this cheese it would not have been a big deal. But, 1.) don't lie on me and 2.) that was very unprofessional.
So, the manager gets the phone, I immediately tells her the young lady lied I calmly ask about my cheese. But wait, the manager comes with attitude and say "ma'am , I'm not got to argue with you but I know I put the cheese in the bag." I'm like hold up, I'm not going to argue with you either give me my money back or give me my cheese dip. She continue to go on and on, then say " I'm 100% I put it in the bag.
To make a long story short, after making that phone call to let them know I was missing portions of my order and was insulted as if I was lying about some damn cheese dip, oh it became the principle of the fact of the horrible customer service I received.
After I went to the establishment to retrieve the missed items I simple told the young lady how unprofessional they where and I will no longer bring my business. Which, that probably don't matter to them, but I'd rather spend my hard earned money somewhere I'm not insulted and appreciate my business and well as I appreciate...
Read moreToday, July 26 2023, I went to eat after work to your location and ordered a carne asada. The waiter came out with the skillet on a full tray. When the skillet slipped the hot onions and the knife fell on my thigh.
He isn’t trained well. I’m burnt on my thighs from the hot onions and knife. I asked the waiter if they can’t carry that much why would he serve in that manner. The assistant manager later came and said that’s how they are trained. She ignored my concern because the skillet slipped and it was an accident. She did not offer any additional compensation for what had occurred and I did not feel that they understood the severity of this situation There are so many instances where today’s accident could have been a more complicated and concerning issue that would require medical attention.
I would’ve been severely burnt if the skillet would’ve landed on me and waiters should not be placed on the floor with that many plates if they can’t physically carry it.
The actual manager for this location was on vacation, so I spoke with the assistant manager.
Please reconsider how you train your leadership on how to assess and handle these situations. And how to assess risk management for the safety and comfort of serving your customers. I much rather have my waiter or waitress make a few trips instead of...
