I dropped of my Toro lawnmower on May 1st running and with a very slight vibration. I had to call in today, May 16th in which only then was I provided an update. I was told the shaft is bent and there is nothing else we can do for it. He then said, "We have a real nice sale on some Toro lawnmowers starting at $399.00" to which I replied, "I will be in to pick up my lawnmower today".
I pickup my lawnmower and arrive back home with it to my absolute horror! Not only would my lawnmower not start but there was oil leaking from the air filter compartment and I then discovered the spark plug is missing. I called Keith's Power Equipment right away and got Keith on the phone. I explained to Keith my displeasure that I picked up my lawnmower with it not running, oil running out of the compartment, and not spark plug.
Well, the first words out of Keith mouth was, "Are you saying I sabotaged your lawnmower". Really, why would that thought even be introduced into the conversation. Needless to say there was no reasoning with Mr. Keith so I will have to bring about an amicable resolution another way. Read moreI have been dealing with Keith for at least 30 years. He has been helpful and responsive at least a dozen times over the years. My most recent purchase was June 2025 of a 42" zero turn mower (my third zero turn and 5th mower from Keith). The mower was delivered to my home and I mowed with it the next day (Friday). I always check my oil, added fresh gas, and gave it the once over and everything was good. Mower ran fine but after about 35 minutes, the mower started acting strange and finally would not run, as if it was starving for fuel. I called Keith and they came and picked up around 9:15 am the next day, Saturday, ( I am in Crown Point), and returned the mower the same day to my home! Turns out it apparently was something from the Toro factory that may have gotten into the fuel system that was flushed out, and the mower runs perfectly again. I came here because Lowes tried to charge me $200 for a repair to my chainsaw that was still covered under an extended policy i had paid $ 150 for. Lesson learned, support your local small businesses because these big box stores dont care about you! The gentleman at the counter actually took apart the chainsaw(I think his name was Juan) and fixed it right there. Put a new chain and serviced another part Lowes was trying to replace. I was in and out in 20 mins and for under $50 bucks. The front counter staff here are knowledgeable and will help you get going if its something quick. Im very happy with the service here and the way I was treated. As a landlord I need to keep my tools working and this place just got a new customer. Keep up the...
