El Monte Taco — Restaurant in Steger

I've been ordering at this place for over a year now i order from this place atleast 2 times a week we order there so much the lady knows our order by heart one day ull get a burrito that is worth your money next day u get a burrito the size of a taco bell burrito not so worth your money I've called numerous times to complain but nothing ever changes now mind you I brought a burrito Today and this thing is all tortilla shell and the size of a taco we American people work hard for our money and expect what we deserve they are very inconsistent on their food so I called the lady to explain my situation and she hung up on me well little does this idiot know im bringing back this taco burrito or whatever you want to call it back in the morning for a refund we definitely will be going out of our way for now on to get consistent reliable food somewhere else sad you can't rely on local business to get consistent food this place sucks and does not care about their customers comments and have no passion for their customers I tried numerous times with no action I do not recommend this place once so ever very disappointed im forced into giving one star to post this i am not giving them any stars it's...

I like visiting this establishment. It's a neighborhood spot. They serve quickly with a kind smile and the refried beans are tasty (the sign of a good latino restaurant). I've had several dishes on the menu but my favorite thing to order here is some beans, rice and guacamole. These with the complimentary salsa and chips are filling and tasty and I'm good to go. My only qualm is that there's a toddler that belongs to the proprietors that is always roaming randomly around the restaurant and sometimes playing ball around the eating area. I do realize that it's a family establishment but last time he tried to relinquish me of my chips and salsa and that's a big no-no. Ever tried to take a hungry dogs bone when it's in his mouth? Yep that's the same response you'll get from me if you touch my plate while I'm eating. Heck...I don't even want you looking at it. I just might growl . Other than that I really like this place. Let me begin by saying It's 9pm Friday March 22nd. We live around the corner from this restaurant and for the most part the food is fantastic. We haven't been in awhile because quite frankly we've worn it out but we figured its been a minute so let's treat ourselves to some tacos. I am so sorry to say this evening the food is awful. I ordered 4 stuffed tacos, 2 shrimp and 2 beef. Not sure what the wife ordered but they're extremely dry and normally can taste the cheese in between the soft shells. We've noticed that the main cook that works the normal hours seems to be the best. It would really be nice if they could train the other cooks to fix the food the exact same way he does. I definitely am not hear to vent but hoping someone from the establishment will read this and take note... Hopefully it'll be...
